Sheesh McStay adds so much to our forward line already.

Good to have another bloke with genuine poise delivering it in there too. Watching Bobby Hill step a bloke, hold the ball, look inboard, step him again and then deliver it perfectly to McStay's advantage makes me giddy.

Hill just adds that class and poise we needed. McStay continuing on from last week with solid hands and goals.

DeGoey has looked good, Crisp, Adams and Mitchell have been solid. Cameron had a solid start but tapered off a bit late.

Defensively we've been very poor.

Little bit the opposite of last year so far. Dominating clearance and keeping the ball in forward 50 ok, struggling to defend and rebound the d50.

McStay has one of the simplest and purest goal-kicking actions I’ve ever seen. He’s gonna have a very high conversion rate if we can get the ball to him regularly enough.

Midfield looked great early. Dominated clearances and pushed back to defend when without the ball. Our pressure fell away at HF and the Hawks were, after the 1st 10minutes able to move the ball from D50 too easily. Good signs from JDG, Mitch, Bobby & Moore. Disappointing when teams get a run on and we don't seem to be able to stop it.

A couple of weak tackling efforts from Sidebottom and Noble there. Genuinely think Sidebottom will get pushed out of the side this year, he looks another yard slower and we are flush with midfield options now.

Adds good defensive pressure too. Having him and McCreery hounding you will cause a bit of panic for defenders.
