Autopsy Hawks vs The Pusscats

We need to keep playing Frawley, that's the best way to get him improving on implementing Hawks footy. There will come a time where he will need to step up should Lake or Gibo get injured or suspended.

Agree with this. I too enjoy playing the cats, but I thought there was a deliberate tactic to try to rough us up after we piled on a few goals. A sign of real desperation.
it hasnt worked for opposition sides for a long time, I don't know why they bother, although Hodgey was bulldozing everything from the start, we were just as hard and tough as the pussy cats, its just that SJ did a gutless back hit on Mitchell and Mitch was targetted all day, but he is used to it, its a bit dissappointing we didn't win by 20 goals, that's what it deserved and us top of the ladder.

Yeh he should play every game, the sooner he is up to Lake spec, WOW, lookout competition, we didnt even have Jesus or Hale playing yesterday, two instrumental GF players, holy cow, I think everyone just overrating Geelong and comparing them or thinking they are the side they were when chapman was there, they ARENT, they are far from that side, but most likely still a top 6 side.

Anyhow not getting carried away. It's a round 1 win, not a premiership. Our preparation for Rd 2 v Peptiders has well and truly begun.
Conceive. Believe. Achieve.

Really like Frawley's pace but needs to be in the right places more often if he is to replace Lake who is the best at it as a defender in my view
Yep loved seeing Frawley's pace and think he will get more confidence the more he plays with the boys……..also loved seeing him get in the middle of things when things heated up with Lewis and Clarke…..he had that crazy look and smirk on his face as he got in the face of Dorkson Simpson…..

Haha, one, two, three strikes you're out........What a gun!
I love Stevie J rolling around on the ground squealing for a free kick.

We made them look second rate. We will do this to most teams this year. The difference in standards of football is just out of this world. Let me explain: I went to the Rich V Carl game thurs night with my GF (She is Carl and yes Im working hard to get her across to the bright side). That game was rubbish. I was sitting thinking what we would do to mobs like that. Its scary!

Only my opinion, but we have improved on last years form and that, for other supporters, has to be scary. People think that was clinical, watch what we do to these cheating scum on sun.

Always good to win round 1. Even better over the Cats so emphatically.

Still quite rusty by us I thought. Especially in front of goal where we torched so many gimmes and a few more tricky shots which they'd still normally get.

2nd and 3rd quarters obviously the stand outs for us but still an uncharacteristic amount of behinds in that 3rd. 4th quarter was just so wasteful when we could've really buried them. Anderson could've even got goal of the year to go along with Poppy's mark of the year. Can't wait to see more of him throughout the year.

Lewis was everywhere. Good to see him carry his late season form from last season into this one. Just needed to tidy up his disposal a bit but he can be forgiven given it's round 1 (and we BELTED THE FRIGGIN CATS!!)

Also a belting of a side in round 1 where we were impressive but still pretty rusty and Breust kicked 5 goals? Smells like last year.

And then Essendon in round 2, again. Hopefully we thrash them this time! If not, watch out whoever we have in rounds 3 and 4...

the only player i was a little disappointed with today was smith, he just looked a little rusty but the intent was there.

can't wait for essendon next week.

Smith was tagged, I believe. They cycled their running players on Smith to close down one flank.

That's one of the reasons that the hawks kept running down the same flank despite having seemingly open players on one side.

It's interesting how much whinging was done on the cats board about the constant bullying and hits on their players and how unfair it was and that the umps allow the Hawks to play on the edge. Very very short memories they have

I feel Happy, I feel Happy, my two wishes came true, the TWO cocky coaches Scott teams were flogged...HEHE
"We're a Happy team at Hawthorn, We're the MIGHTY fighting Hawks.":D

Oh what a feeling, (no sympathy for the 2 Scott's.) Happy, Happy, Happy:D:p:D

It was fantastic, for me there is no greater "old enemy" than geelong.

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to applaud the coaching group (silently & I hope, respectively ) as they entered the lift at the beginning of 3/4 time. There are times that one cannot resist the chance to show your deep appreciation and awe for the real "Generals" of this great club. Foremost was not wanting to interfere in the "moment".

Not far from my place there is your usual arrogant geelong supporter, with the flagpole in the front yard, it has never taken much for him to find an excuse to run up the cat's flag, often it would remain up after a loss, or sometimes after a good night at training.
I must concede that he must now have a sense of humour.

The cats flag was flying at 1/2 mast this morning, loved it !!!!!
This loss must have hit him pretty hard.

thats cool, lets see none of the flags on the cars around Geelong for some time now! Geelong supporters in Geelong seem to be very sunny weather supporters. if their team doesnt do well, it seems all those car flags seem to disappear!
