Autopsy Hawks vs Tuggers

So, O'Brien goes back, Gisbon is then released, Cegs goes forward, and thats all she wrote.

Much better structure with two talls down back and two up forward which funny enough helps our run, who woulda thunk it.

Brand and Frawley in the same backline does exactly the same thing for Gibbo except we get to keep O'Brien forward and he was very impressive today without hitting the scoreboard.

I don't understand the marking the ball rule anymore.

All I suggest is that you never show this game to someone who has never seen it before and try to explain the rules. The most disgraceful exhibition of HTB umpiring you'll ever see. Absolutely no consistency in the application of the rule. Tigers hold the ball in and the umpire can't ball it up quickly enough. Hawks do the same and the clueless just hovered like vultures until paying the free. Add the touched mark, the 8 metre kicks and the Gunston unpaid mark and tonight was a massive fail for the maggots.

Does anyone else get bored shitless by David King's endless stats?
He just pulls out selective statistics and goes on and on and on.

So damn boring.

One of his favourites is contested possessions: we smashed Adelaide and Freo in the finals and lost the contested possessions: explain that, you dimwit!

This was big. This wasn't the Richmond of the first 6 rounds tonight. It wasn't the best of Richmond of the last few years either. But they were good enough that factoring in both sides losses in personnel that this was a big win.

Young players stood up and some whipping boys found some form at long last.

Mitchell and Frawley return next week and I think Brand has shown more than enough to keep his spot. Didn't look like a debut game. In fact hard to say who (if any) of the young'uns miss out.
Fact is teams lift when they play the Hawks

Highlight for me was the young kids tonight, really tried and were pretty damn good under the circumstances.
Reckon the future looks OK with Lovell, Brand, Sicily, TOB, Howe and Hartung.
Good to see Langers back like others have said really missed his work in the middle.
Brooost getting some form back and kicking a nice bag of 6 is great.
Poppy, Lewis, Burgers, Gunston, Shiels and Cyril all solid tonight aswell.

Lovell: Gun. Need this boy in the side.
Gunners: GREAT
BREUUUUUUUUUUUUUST
Poppy: GREAT!!!
Cyril: Essential
Burgers: Moments of brilliance
Shiels: Tackled hard, a couple of good clearances
Langford: Really drove our contested ball, but tidier disposal needed
Brand: Good
Howe: Good
TOB: Pretty good!
Lewis: Much better than last couple of weeks
Stratton: Good overall, a few brain fades.
Smith: Solid
Hartung: Some poor moments but consistent output and really pulled away at the end.
Gibbo: Looked off for his usual performance
Birchall: OK, some great moments, some not so great moments.
Hill: ran well
McEvoy: OK after a shaky start, a couple of good marks
Sicily... not great, but busted some packs
Doc: Not great, but some hard work down back
Ceglar: SHITE with a couple of good goals/assists

I have NFI who comes out for Frawley, Roughead, Mitchell, Hodge... (bit rough to drop Sicily based on one game, but Doc in the firing line.)

Then O'Hawk, Willsmore and Schoey also going to be pressing.

Is Fitzy going to give us more than Ceglar is?
Forgot spangher too! :)

Hill and shiels finally looking in some form

You're right
He'd have been in the best 10%

He kept us in the game
Don't know what his stats were, but he was absolutely spent at 1/4 time, and again at 3/4 time

Breust kept us in the game early.

Not a chance Langers was in the best 10%

Incorrect on so many levels.
His ferocious attack on the ball is exactly what we need. In saying that disposal efficiency is not the best.

i agree langford was a bull just ran out of steam at times but loved his attack on the ball, lewis played well i thought his tackling was inspiring and shiels last qtr was the best ive ever seen shiels play just a man possesed by the devil love it! kids did well. Still have alot of room for improvement, centre square clearances were a concern for 3 qtrs and we were losing the contested posses but im very happy bank the points and move on.

I don't give a s@*! What the stats say about contested ball, clearances, etc. fact is we're now 5-2. Clarko and the boys know how to pace themselves and bring it home at he back end of the year when it matters. Stick with it and enjoy the ride!

Do yourself a favour and turn the radio/tv off whenever King comes on.

Absolutely hats off to Lewis, best half of footy he has played all year in that 2nd half.

KB was really good, he has good foot skills and great reach, once he learns his angles at this level he'll be a star.

Billy was absolutely brilliant, he has set the standard now. It's scary what our forward line can produce when Ruff is back, it's just a matter of getting them enough footy.

Shocking 3 qtrs but absolute champaign in the last.
