Beat me to it, but somehow I don't see it catching on. If it's not disparaging Hawthorn, then who cares?

Hoping we can find a way to keep Brand in the side for a few, now that the draw is opening up. It'd be great for him to learn off Chip & Gibbo.

It's been said before, but Lovell is gonna be a very good player. No one can replace Mitchell, but life post-Mitchell may not be as gloomy as we all thought it would be.

Great to see Breust and Smith get some form, and Gunston continue his.

If theres one thing the hawks can develop, its clearance machines

Langford circle jerk is weird. Wouldn't have been in best 40% players on field tonight

Our problem was Richmond just trotting through the centre of the field, and Langford was key in arresting that, IMO. He also halved a lot of clearance contests so that Richmond weren't able to completely destroy us in that.

Whoever doubted Howe last week. Fine game. So many little touches of the ball to stop a mark or simply blocking with his body. One of those influential players who dont need to take possession.

I don't want Lovell out for Mitchell, particularly against Freo next week. Brand out for Frawley is probably a no-brainer.
Why on earth would we do this????????????????????

With O'Brien going back in the last we freed up Gibson. Can only wonder how much better this can get with Frawley and Brand or Frawley and Spang in the team together. While at the other end having Roughie, O'Brien (or Shoe) and Gunston makes us hard to match up on again.

The last qtr twas most enjoyable, the first 3 qtrs were some of the most dissapointing football since 2009. Still need a march harder midfield as we are just getting smashed. Well done Hawks, Brand and Lovell congratulations. Scilly goal was awesome and Breust's goal really made Richmond look like clowns. Smith might have found some form. Gunners is an absolute champ.

short memory round 6 2016 V GWS ring a bell ?? but know what you mean..

So did Gibbo. In fact he sold Hartung into a nasty one.

Hopefully some cobwebs got blown out in that last quarter.

Lovell seems to know how to position himself very well.
To be fair, Hurting did have a decent last quarter, but recon he was very ordinary before that. Often handballed sideways or backwards to either someone in danger or someone who then kicked it long which is what he should be doing in the first place.

This was big. This wasn't the Richmond of the first 6 rounds tonight. It wasn't the best of Richmond of the last few years either. But they were good enough that factoring in both sides losses in personnel that this was a big win.

Young players stood up and some whipping boys found some form at long last.

Mitchell and Frawley return next week and I think Brand has shown more than enough to keep his spot. Didn't look like a debut game. In fact hard to say who (if any) of the young'uns miss out.

The umpiring favoured Hawks posts dried up during the last in the MB thread as we piled them on. That was fun.

Nice to see Lewis, Breust, Smith and Shiels all have good games. Hartung too.

For all the Langers love, 14 touches, poor ball use and only a handful of tackles means he is still on the cusp for me. I love his endeavour but if you aren't getting it much and aren't using it well then there's issues.

TOB looks a real sort to me. Attacked the ball well, hands were clean and dished off nicely to the runners. Had a hand in a few scoring chains.

Burgers was cruising all night but then was everywhere in the last ensuring the game was a win. Just did a Burgoyne really.

Gunners was Gunners. Rioli and Poppy did their thing.

Brand and Lovell showed good enough signs that they can make themselves a niche at some point.

Probably Duryea the only one still looked in the same poor form he's had all year.

All in all a solid win. Forget how the Tigers are travelling and worrying about how long it took to get on top. We had our own form issues going in and some of the highest quality out of the side any team could imagine.............and we were in a contest up to our ears for most of the game. Getting a win is all we needed and a little % boost at the end is the icing.

Smash Freo by a similar or larger margin next week (and let's face it we should) and we go 6-2 and with hopefully the % on the way up and Mitchell and Frawley back and Hodge and Rough getting closer.

Only round 7. Long season left.

Going by stats, right?

Season defining win for mine.
Under mounting pressure all week and it was the kids who collectively stood up and turned the game. Not everyone standing back waiting for Mitch to put in a superhuman display.

Hmm... how about that... :)

5-2 with Freo Sydney Brisbane Melbourne Essendon North Suns to follow.

Ill take that thank you very much!

10-4 with our current form would be a pass mark.

Anything above and then we are in Premiership territory.

I couldn't disagree more. I thought our young players (Obrien, Brand, Sicily, Howe and even Sicily) really came to play and showed some great moments. Not only are we winning but we are getting games into these kids. If they come on, god help the others 17 teams.
