The last qtr twas most enjoyable, the first 3 qtrs were some of the most dissapointing football since 2009. Still need a march harder midfield as we are just getting smashed. Well done Hawks, Brand and Lovell congratulations. Scilly goal was awesome and Breust's goal really made Richmond look like clowns. Smith might have found some form. Gunners is an absolute champ.

Excellent of Richmond to play us into some form. The big difference in the last was the centre clearances. Don't think we lost one in the last quarter.

Burgoyne was very prominent in the midfield in the last quarter.

Burgoyne was very prominent in the midfield in the last quarter.

Our veterans in the middle stood up in the last quarter.

Burgoyne, Lewis and Shiels (find it hard to call him a veteran but anywho).

Gunston is such a complete footballer.

I'd love to see him as our next captain. Toss up between him and Shiels.

Season defining win for mine.
Under mounting pressure all week and it was the kids who collectively stood up and turned the game. Not everyone standing back waiting for Mitch to put in a superhuman display.

No real standouts just a good even contribution.

Yep.

Stand-outs for mine were: winning, having so many youngtsers in the side, and finding that spirit together.

It wasn't pretty, but they found something through and gelled.

Lots of positives in there for mine.

Gee we look a little like the magpies in 08-09. Decent team but can be smashed out of the middle

That was until the pies got jolly and ball on board

Closest options for us are roughy and mitch

Beat me to it, but somehow I don't see it catching on. If it's not disparaging Hawthorn, then who cares?

Hoping we can find a way to keep Brand in the side for a few, now that the draw is opening up. It'd be great for him to learn off Chip & Gibbo.

It's been said before, but Lovell is gonna be a very good player. No one can replace Mitchell, but life post-Mitchell may not be as gloomy as we all thought it would be.

Great to see Breust and Smith get some form, and Gunston continue his.

Lovell: Gun. Need this boy in the side.
Gunners: GREAT
BREUUUUUUUUUUUUUST
Poppy: GREAT!!!
Cyril: Essential
Burgers: Moments of brilliance
Shiels: Tackled hard, a couple of good clearances
Langford: Really drove our contested ball, but tidier disposal needed
Brand: Good
Howe: Good
TOB: Pretty good!
Lewis: Much better than last couple of weeks
Stratton: Good overall, a few brain fades.
Smith: Solid
Hartung: Some poor moments but consistent output and really pulled away at the end.
Gibbo: Looked off for his usual performance
Birchall: OK, some great moments, some not so great moments.
Hill: ran well
McEvoy: OK after a shaky start, a couple of good marks
Sicily... not great, but busted some packs
Doc: Not great, but some hard work down back
Ceglar: SHITE with a couple of good goals/assists

I have NFI who comes out for Frawley, Roughead, Mitchell, Hodge... (bit rough to drop Sicily based on one game, but Doc in the firing line.)

Then O'Hawk, Willsmore and Schoey also going to be pressing.

Is Fitzy going to give us more than Ceglar is?

Hopefully that last quarter rout can instill some confidence in the group to build on that

Lovell and Brand very good for young players. Hartung was terrific too.

Forward line looked a whole heap more organised this week

Great response from Jordan. Really stood up

Liam shiels and Will Langford are tackling machines

Only concern would be the clearances, although no Hodge and Mitchell (you could also add Rough in that too) probably contributed to that stat.

Much better performance, however still a fair bit of improvement to come

Sold teammates into trouble way too much.
So did Gibbo. In fact he sold Hartung into a nasty one.

Hopefully some cobwebs got blown out in that last quarter.

Lovell seems to know how to position himself very well.

If you'd said prior to the game that we'd go in without Mitchell, but we'd blood Brand, Lovell would see time in the guts, Howe would step up, TOB would do well and we'd win by 40+ you'd take it and then some.

Hard fought, but we steamrolled them in the end.
you forgot the bits where the maggots in green were in #freekickrichmond mode.

Great result all things considered.

Lewis really stood up tonight. TOB very good at times and Burgoyne wow! This bloke time and time again just gets us back into the game when required.
