Hawks struggle but unearth a potential A-grade midfielder in Worpel. TOB and Lewis become the answer to our dysfunctional forward line. Wingard once fit and firing adds another dimension to our midfield. Scrimshaw looks very capable of replacing Birchall. Our defence is one of the best in the league - next year we get our best midfielder back to complement our improving forwards. We have some highly rated kids at Box Hill.

A team in transition, we finish 9th. We beat the reigning premiers, last year’s runner up and this year’s minor premier in an impressive late season run.

We haven’t even entered trade period. We miss out on a single free agent and people seriously want to play the ‘WE ARE DOOOOOOOMED’ card?

I'm surprised to say but the reaction has been rather calm. A couple folks breathing deeply into brown paper bags but not too many. Maybe as the night wears on and the second shift comes in then the hyperventilating will increase.
