With Coniglio on a free we are instantly transformed into a top 4 side. It was an opportunity that was just too good to miss out on.

Now if we want to bring in a big name we will have to give up heaven and earth. That is essentially robbing Peter to pay Paul. We can't afford to lose our most tradeable players (Gunston, Smith, Breust and Shiels) if we want to win now, and that's been the aim. And if we trade away players for picks then we will be a few years away from developing them, whilst all our best players are in their peak years now or at the tail end of them.

Even if that did happen - which is very unlikely - it would be at the expense of 2 first round picks or a gun and a first round pick.
