ACL or no ACL nothing changes with the pursuit of Coniglio. It would have to be a career ending injury for us to pull out now. If anything I think the injury probably makes it easier for him to leave now with a fresh start and what not but I still don’t think it’s an ACL. Not that there’s any prizes for being right or wrong.

Torn meniscus: 6-8 weeks if he gets the loose debris shave off or a little sooner if he gets it surgically repaired. You’d think with no training over that period his season is cooked no matter what.

Did he actually say that?

Cause that in itself is an insight into his future in 2020.

Not really. I heard Sam Mitchell do am interview on SEN in grand final week 2016 stating how he’d love to play with Tom and JOM if we got them both. Few weeks later he was in Perth.

I understand if we have committed to Coniglio that we follow through. I would do the same in business and life.

However, if he hasn't committed to us yet, and if it is an ACL, I'm not certain I would chase him to be honest.

Mitchell is a broken leg, so that's not a major concern. But a midfield with O'Meara, Scully *Coniglio if ACL is just too risky for mine. Particularly with O'Meara and *Coniglio being amongst our highest earners. Add in Wingard with his soft-tissue injuries this year and a good part of our salary cap would be tied to players with risk of further injury.

Season over. Here we go.

Okay so which mod is going to award me my PhD badge :p

FWIW tearing your meniscus still has it's issues. Being a rich athlete and depending on how bad its was torn and more importantly what kind of tear it was he'll likely have it sewn together surgically. Also did you notice the comments on that twitter feed were mainly Carlton fans that think he's going there?

So, we are out of the race according to that article...Carlton, St Kilda and West Coast are the clubs in the running......

GWS made him play when maybe he shouldn't have

Hawks have best knee medicos in the business

Round 18 and hasn't re-signed

Stephen.....come home

Not that I'm defending GWS but the meniscus in his knee was eventually going to tear and it was just a matter of when so all that blow up yesterday about their medicos mishandling the situation was really unwarranted. The slight knee injury he had last week was likely just the first part of it tearing and then yesterday was the rest of it tearing. The meniscus in our knees act as a shock absorber and whether its wear and tear or old age they don't always last forever and you end up with loose debris that will have to removed (arthroscope). The important news here is that he'll be good to go round 1 next year but will still have to manage it throughout the course of his career and I'm sure JOM has a couple of knee braces he can lend him in the interim.

Pretty impressive TD, credit to Tassie Cryptic as well for calling it a meniscus

Surely he won’t be impressed by playing with a dodgy knee in the first place, clear scan or not.
