AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I actually fought him on it and said that he was visibly invested in the group, to which he just kept rebutting with his treatment of mitch/hodge/lewis, was real odd.
Alright guys, let the Carlton fans get all excited an what not however I will let you in on a few things and this is coming from a good source, related to a media personality not in Victoria will not be giving away their name.
There will be a fair few changes this season at our club. Rough is the first of three retirements this off season. Two players will be put up for trade in the belief to strengthen our points in terms of second and third round pics in case young Finn Maginness is bid on earlier.
We have on our radar some role players from interstate clubs who are at this stage, looking quite likely.
In terms of Steve Coniglio, we all need to settle down it has been done for months now, he will be at the Hawthorn Footy Club in 2019. Patton was done at the end of last season and will also be a hawk.
Tom Mitchell’s contract extension, Jaegar o mearas extension and the signing on of some young players were all consequences of a deal having being made with Coniglio.
Will be a heavily front ended 5 year deal to begin with, the ‘awakening’ of Carlton becoming a serious threat to our pursuit according to the Victorian media is an attempt to get their fans up and about with an impending coaching appointment which will be David Teague and a side that is obviously improving and to somewhat awaken a ‘sleeping giant’.
Stephen Coniglio to Hawthorn on a 5 year deal is done, I repeat it is a done deal and has been for a fair while now and this is coming from a reputable interstate source and a close source at that. There is no race playing out here to his signature let no one fool any of you.
Will become the greatest ITK of all time if you pull this off son

Tige,
Long time reader and not a very often poster but really do believe I have a very reputable source and it’s quite frankly embarrassing heading over to Carlton’s bluemour thread and reading the celebrations lol and then reading the panic coming from some of our fans.
Coniglio will be at Hawthorn, decision was made long ago and we have had him on our radar for the best part of 5 years. Our contact certainly wasn’t initiated this season as you would know!
Enjoy reading your contributions mate your a passionate hawk fan!!

LOL it's laughable a CEO of the league can come out and comment about player movement in this manner without any accountability, are you the league CEO or the GWS CEO Gil ?
Ledge.
Haha you may be in the minority of those enjoying my posts .
Thanks for the input

Listening to Hagdorn's comments I am s**tting myself that Clarko goes to Carlton. I didn't buy it at first and have listened to every media bit where he adamantly denies it.
However, I was at a function over the weekend with an ex hawk that I won't name, but if you connect the dots well done.
His words to me were this Clarko will never be a hawthorn person, is all about himself and is trying to get $2m/year from the blues. He went on to say that he went for the North job and didn't get it which seems impossible that they would choose Rhyce Shaw over him.
Came across as really disgruntled with something Clarko had done to him even though he never coached him. As such a lover of the hawks it was concerning that this was the state of the relationship between our current coach and one of our most decorated past players.
EDIT: This is being misunderstood as news that Clarko is leaving, I dont believe a word of what he said and this may be the wrong thread for this, but there was a clear disdain for clarko coming out and even hinted that in his belief anybody could have coached that group to similar success, and the treatment of mitchell/lewis/hodge was something that really bothered him.
I am sharing to give an insight most readers wouldn't have, and nothing to prove here.
Makes you wonder if Gil thinks it's an OK thing to come out and make such comments, what other shit has he done that he thinks is OK that we don't know about.LOL it's laughable a CEO of the league can come out and comment about player movement in this manner without any accountability, are you the league CEO or the GWS CEO Gil ?
He was when it was when the sydney based club he was steering him to missed out.Wonder if old Gil was disappointed when Franklin left for Sydney.
Caroline Wilson asked the league boss on 3AW if he’d be disappointed if Coniglio left the expansion club.
“Yeah, I would,” McLachlan said.
“Certainly my advice is that it’s not a given (that he’ll leave).
“I think he’s a star player and I know he’s a leader of the club.
“I know him a bit personally, I think he’s a fabulous person.
“I’ll be explicit – I’d love him to stay up there.”
