Players that have been mentioned in the Melbourne media who have attracted interest are:

* Tim Boyle
* Jarryd Roughead
* Jordan Lewis
* Grant Birchall

Of those four, I'd say that Hawthorn would only be prepared to let Boyle go, provided that the deal is in Hawthorn's interest and Tim agrees to it (he signed a new contract earlier this year).

If Hawthorn elevates McEntee to the main list, then we have five ruckmen, but one of those is coming back from a knee reco and two haven't played any AFL games. Perhaps Adelaide has enquired about Robert Campbell or Simon Taylor.

Another player who might have attracted Adelaide's interest is Mark Williams, as he has proven over the past two seasons that he is capable of kicking goals when given the right delivery. However, I feel it's highly unlikely that Williams would agree to a trade to Adelaide.

Yeah Willow is a W.A. boy who has a young family settled in Vic, I doubt he would want to move to anywhere else but W.A.

Pelchen said Roughie, Birch and Lewis are all off limits so no need to worry there.

heard on the news the other night that williams, boyle and mcglyn r all up for trade.

Dont know why we would get rid of williams, great small forward that would fit perfectly back in the side through dixons retirement

We have kept boyle all these years, finally gets a chance to play some good football, and the last few years we have been complaining about not having a forward line, why do we wanna trade them??

Thought we were going for youth policy, so y trade mcglyn who fills the role of vandenberg perfectly?

Re: Hawthorn 2007 Drafting thread

The Hawks made the right call on Rawlings due to his knee. If Willos case is anything similar the club would have to give it thought. There are also a no of people who believe that Willo doesnt fit in well with other talls in the fwd line. Given he isnt a crumber one wonders how the structure can fit around this. Clarkson himself has said that we wont win a flag with him at FF.

We can win games without him due to the other talls in the fwd line. However, look at the team structure if Croad gets injured. Huge hole.

Ha ha, Williams was just behind Hodge as the player of the finals!

And we won the Grand Final with Croad missing for the second half ...
