Wrong. Hawks did what they had to do by the rules of the AFL.
Correct. For reference below, once the HFC had the report outlining serious allegations they were duty bound by the AFL’s protocol to hand over the report to the AFL integrity unit.

I will pin this post, as it seems to be a constant query.

Nup.

He will be the Second Defendant Fagan the Third Defendant and Burt the Fourth Defendant

The club will be the First Defendant.

Possible that Newbold or Stuart Fox could also be added.

All will be on the hook unless / until they can get themselves off.

That’s the way civil damages litigation works.
Hawthorn will be vicariously liable for its former employees.

Jordan is a country lad from the bool that has made a good crust out of playing footy.

Making public comments such as “blood on their hands” wasn’t his smartest move and you would hope his manager would speak with him today and tell him to pull
his head in quick smart.

Amazing how quickly people can change their tune. Jordan when he was told by Clarko he wasn’t going to be skipper and to feel free to explore his options was furious at Clarko and let everyone know.

Hawk trio highly likely to be exonerated as AFL moves to end much-criticised inquiry

North Melbourne coach Alastair Clarkson, Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan and former Hawthorn welfare manager Jason Burt are highly likely to be fully exonerated by the AFL, as the league moves to wind up the independent panel that has overseen an investigation into allegations of historical racism.

So everyone but the players or their representatives were present at a meeting to work towards a resolution…the investigation had only just delivered documents and the afl, without Quinn present if that passage was to be believed, was determining the resolution? Wow…

For those who don’t have access through the paywall:

the club will probably wear the financial impact as it was the employer. Employees such as clarko, Fagan and Burt will be indemnified unless it can be proven they acted outside the law - which is unlikely at this point in time.
It’s going to be like Melbourne getting the fine for not tanking.

Feel terrible for Clarko. Australians are indoctrinated to get their self-worth from being the great defenders of Aborigines. Whenever a situation like this happens, Australians fall over themselves to see who can be the most vicious to the alleged racist. Due process, evidence, reason—none of it matters to these great defenders.

It would be nonsense for the club to get a fine, draft picks or any form of punishment if those who 'allegedly' (now apparently clear) did nothing wrong. Its like shooting someone yet the gun company wearing the consequences.

I find it staggering how quickly so many supporters have turned on Clarkson.
Even questioning the validity of his reported mental health problems. That is wrong in my opinion.

Let’s not forget what Clarkson did for the Hawthorn football club. What he gave to his players and supporters. This is what we know is true.

Unless the allegations made against him are proven to be true people should reserve from judging his character until the process runs its course.

Those who leaked information from the review, the ABC and other media should be ashamed of themselves. Whether this man is guilty or incident he, Fagan and Burt deserve to be part of a proper process with the seriousness of claims made against them.

If these three individuals are exonerated, can anyone tell me what we’ve actually done wrong warranting sanctions? I genuinely can’t get my head around it.

What did we do wrong?

We ran a review without consulting all parties.

We employed Phil Egan to run the review.

The review was leaked to the media by either Hawthorn, Phil Egan or the alleged victims denying the accused individuals natural justice.

Since then, Hawthorn has stayed silent while the accused individuals have been torched by the media and their names dragged through the mud for eight months.

The players aren’t holding a defamation gun to the AFL’s head with Clarkson looking to establish mental health damages. The AFL has no choice but to bring this circus to a close.
