Yeah the coaches are finished. It’s just too much. I’m shocked that (on face value) that North and Brisbane haven’t seen the very obvious conclusion and acted already.

As for Hawthorn… there is a world of hurt coming down here.
Many were all about hearing both sides of the story with the doping saga... and this is no different. It may seem obvious to us that this will end only one way, but it would be remiss of both clubs to sack either coach without good cause (not to mention VERY expensive) AT THIS STAGE. They need to dot their i's and cross their t's to ensure no wrongful dismissal cases are filed aganst them.

I know someone that was at Melbourne when Fagan was there. No one wanted to be called into his office on a Monday morning as you knew it would be trouble. He would give a good lecture about surrounding yourself with better people and drop kicks. But nothing that would raise eyebrows like what is being discussed.

The other point he mentioned was when Jurrah was there. (fagan gone by this point) Melbourne did everything they could to advise him not to go back and see family and implored him to stay in Melbourne and avoid his family. We all know how that has turned out.

There needs to be a review of the experiences of indigenous players across all AFL clubs. It's a long time overdue
True.
But I can't see either the clubs or AFL volunteering.
See what happened to Hawthorn when they broke the cardinal rule, namely never set up an enquiry unless you already know the result.

And that's roughly where the line is. They advised him to do something (because they knew there was ongoing bad blood between families in Jurrah's hometown) and were perhaps rightly worried about his safety. But they didn't physically involve themselves or stop him from going.

Can we find out who those people were that did that so that we can grab our pitchforks and storm their ivory towers??

Why is that? The club commissioned the report. The report actually states the culture is fantastic at the moment. This is backed up by both Amon & Brockman signing up.

They are ex employees.

Yes, the clubs can't sack them just yet. But they're rightly stood down and everyone should probably just assume they're gone. Hawthorn should already be planning changes (they should have a response already under development).

Everyone seems to be sitting on their hands hoping it all might go away and Clarko will all of a sudden have proof that he was in Perth at the time of all the alleged conversations/incidents.

I don't know what people actully think Clarkson and Fagan can say which might make this all sound better. "We thought we were doing the right thing"??!!

They're all cooked and anyone who can be proven to know about it (i.e. Newbold) will be gone too. It's only a matter of time. The sooner the clubs and AFL get their house in order the better. Waiting to hear from Clarkson and Fagan is practically a formality right now. If they had proof which would change anyone's opinion of them, they'd have stated it by now.

They haven't been stood down by their Clubs... they have voluntarily stood aside while this is dealt with.

It seems apparent to me that Clarkson, Fagan, Burt, Newbold et al are all as guilty as sin here. They did it but they didn't see that it was completely f*****g wrong!
You’re leaving out Gilligans bestie Mark Evans who gets pretty good coverage in the report, his name didn’t get redacted

How many different ways can you say the same thing - blaming others for making up their mind on something when that is exactly what you have done?

Can we find out who those people were that did that so that we can grab our pitchforks and storm their ivory towers??
Who uses the term "run like the Russian mafia"?

we are to expect an assistant coach has used that very descriptive and derogatory term to describe the workings of Clarkson and others leading the club? Nah not for mine.

I'm asserting someone was "coached" into using that term.

A lot of you are very quick to condemn based on one side of the story being told. Where is due process in all of this? Get off your high horse.

all these senior Hawk personnel deserve the right of reply and due process before they are hung, drawn and quartered.

As for the assistant coach who has come forward, I am VERY skeptical about him. Very! Something about him that doesn't smell right.

I think it's a stich up the way it is being played out in the media.

What I am saying is that the accused are being stitched up as this plays out in the media.

Those emails are still only one side of the story.

It's a stitch up the way it's being played out.

. Excuse me for not grabbing my pitchfork. Have fun with yours.

This is a thread for discussion on published articles and stories that have received widespread coverage across all media platforms.

The vast majority of us are not denying that Clarkson et al have a right of reply to the allegations but that does not mean we can not or should not discuss the allegations in detail and pass our judgement on their veracity and what it says about our game and the people who run it. And that is the same for your views about it being a media 'stitch up' or choosing to believe that something 'doesn't smell right' about individuals making the allegations.

Trying to shut down discussion with 'pitchfork' comments is juvenile nonsense.
