I dare say he'll be pretty disillusioned with your mob by the end of trading period.
What the **** do you know about what we're offering for him, or doing to try and meet your demands??

Answer: Absolutely Nuffin'!!

For all you know, we may have attempted to offload one of our WA boys (Locks, Woey) to the west for their first rounder to meet your demands and they've both kindly denied, with no rumour eventuating.

You're running on rumours sport, like the rest of us (media included), so I'd suggest you, like Malibu, stop talking out of your proverbial!!

As pointed out above, our recent trade history has resulted in win-win trades. Fair market value Porthos. Nothing more, nothing less (ND excepted).

We value him very, very highly and are doing everything we can to get him. That's not just a rumour, that's from our Club officials!!

What lack of respect is that??

We have reached amicable win-win deals with a number of clubs over the past several years. Not one has been in our obvious favour. On the contrary, we got shafted on one deal!

If we chose to gamble on Didak's upside and don't want to lose our still young and top class fullback in Prestigiacomo, then that's our choice. It's our opinion on if they're required players or not!

It sure isn't a slap in the face to Port and we sure as hell aren't disrespecting them, nor are we disrespecting Stevens.

I'm sure we'd consider Didak plus pick 17 if we had an abundance of class midfielder/half-forwards who kicked goals, but we don't. If Tristen Walker was actually Matty Scarlett, then we may have traded Presti, but he most certainly isn't Scarlett!

So before you start talking out of your arse, remember our recent history with trades, which were all fair and appreciate that we have requirements to attend to, far more important than an addition to the midfield (and we fully appreciate Stevens' ability).

Not so much talking the club but more the morgoths of the world that seem to consider Nick to Collingwood is a done deal and that Collingwood can basically offer your boot studder and a carton a beer and we will take it. Collingwood are not the only club that do things in a professional manner.

This trade will no doubt go right down to the wire with Collingwood and Port poised to sign on Friday arvo.

But alas it cannot work.

Because no matter what happens, goodwill and smiles,

both clubs will find a way to choke when it comes to the crunch.

But you said "treat Collingwood with the same lack of respect that they obviously have for other clubs during the trade period".

morgoth, isn't our Club. We're all hacks here having a dip and giving our opinions and when all is said and done, none of it is relevant. Don't attach the opinions of supporters to that of the club they support.

I know Collingwood are not the only Club that do things in a professional manner, which is why I say leave it to the clubs to sort out and don't think that just because a deal isn't struck, that it's because one party is treating another party with contempt. It's not true!

Let me take out the key statement from the age

Port, Blues close to deal
By Stephen Rielly, Jake Niall
October 16, 2003

Port Adelaide and Carlton have all but agreed to a deal for Nick Stevens which, for the moment, is being resisted by the midfielder. Stevens is insisting on more time for Collingwood to produce an offer that will carry the day.

Can you read it Malibu, he does not want to come home to Vic, he wants to come home to the Pies. Whether it happens is up to Nick but his intent is now becoming clear.

Funny Morgoth because there is nothingin the Advertiser stating that Nick is 'holding out' for Collingwood. Not one mention at all.

Papers say funny things sometimes morgoth. Dont believe everything you read in a newspaper.

Errrr...so if the rumours are true in that he might be going to Carlton...what do Carlton have to offer us??

I profess to only having seen Carlton play about five times over the past two seasons and know little about their younger players.

He's got a year left on his contract, so he can't just slip into the PS Draft.

His value is a second round pick, so what can Carlton offer to represent that value??

Noone has answered your question FIGJAM so i might as well.

Fisher, Houlihan, Livingston, Sporn, Wiggins. They would probably equal around pick 24ish

Cheers Macca!

Everyone seems to despise Livingston, but is he without hope?

We obviously need KPs. If he was part of the Stevens deal with Carlton, would you be happy, indifferent or annoyed??

Well last year he was seen as a rose in a thorn bush, future captain material etc. etc. This year he was decidedly average so i dunno. Wouldnt be bad, but i wouldnt be over the moon either.
