Swearing whilst giving an address should be considered a definite no-no. By swearing I mean F--K and C--T. They are about the only two words left that are really offensive in general. There is no real need for it.

If players don't get the message that the coach is unhappy with the way things are going through a normal message, they are too dumb to be playing in the first place.

Kang Flat need another dozen BFL standard senior players next season, or they may as well forfeit every game, and not waste everyone's time. If they have a stack of money, I hope they aren't spending it all on Fatty Warry, and the Zantuck debacle. What the hell were they thinking paying him to play each week and he didn't even train. That's real great for team morale...... Plenty of off-field work to do at the Flat before the on-field stuff can get looked at I would think.

Strathfieldsaye have had a top junior program going for a number of years now, and it is the fastest growing area in the Bendigo region I would think. They will have a top sporting facility by next year, and wouldn't have a problem fielding football teams. Although, dunno where they would get their spending money from.

If the odd f word is found offensive these days on a football field and in the quarter addresses we may as well start following politics. It appears Sawyers passion for the club is getting through to the guys and they are responding with gusto. So in my humble opinion, if the team can rally from a passionate address, then use it "and not die F*"ing wondering":D:D

Fantom:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Oh yeah. Winners are grinners "F" the rest:D

You are a loser Mylo. A few of the Mounts boys were telling me how much of a tosser you are and that you have tickets on yourself!!

Why thank you froffie monster yeah i am a tosser for sure, dont you like a good stroke yourself? Or do you prefer it in the rear... yeah thought so. Dont think i have tickets on myself as there is not much there to have tickets on. But thanks for the comment... Yeah you rock froffie monster!!!! Your cool!!!!

Congratulations to Smally who (if you listen to win news) plays his 300th this week, great effort champ and maybe we can do better this week. Unlucky he's not playing. Congratulations must be extended to Samuel Newth who plays his 200th? game, and I must say they have been very exciting games to. Also well done to Gunny on his first senior game.

Big Round of games this week punters almost could be rivalry round this one.

Elmore V Mounts - HUGE game for both sides, I understand that mounts are having their 97 reunion on saturday and bringing them all across to see what a decent ground and changerooms look like!! Elmore are close to having a full strength side back on the park are starting to do some of their finest work at the moment while mounts are ........well mounts!! SHould be a very vocal crowd for a game that if its anything like the game at tooleen should be an absolute corker between two sides who.....lets face it really dont like each other!! Elmore by a point again. to take the load of hay!! :thumbsu: - good luck to bundy in his first senior game for the bloods

Hills V Hoppers - These teams, a couple of years ago were both leading the way and playing off in grand finals against each other so im sure they still get rather pumped to meet these days as rivalrys are built around finals. Colbo need to win to stay on top and Hillies need to win to show they are capable of more than just making up the numbers come september. This game could be a real shoot out with both sides having numerous avenues to goals in their foward lines but Colbo have too much class for a very determined Hills outfit who have become the exact opposite of the side they were at the start of the year and are playing some very good footy. Colbo by 6 goals

Hawks V Dogs - the battle of the perpetual cellar dwellars always brings out the best in these two sides who more often than not see this game as a chance to stake some bragging rights. This year the dogs have been very competitive and will be too good a side for the hawks who if there supporters dont start going to games and filling the coffers might find themselves on the endangered species list. Dogs by 8 goals

Roos V Cats - Cant think of why these teams are rivals but anyway.....hasnt been an easy year for the cats with injuries and departures but their kids are gaining invaluable experience which will hopefully benefit them in the long term. The Roos are a real threat I dont think we have seen the very best of them but they have alluded to what they are capable of with a 10 goal qtr to none against the bloods and some other impressive displays. They are running out of time to put it together but if they do we all should be worried. Roos by 15 goals.

Good luck to everyone this week. Im sure im going to need it!!

Might help you out here hound. The teams played off in the epic preliminary final of 03(?) at the Zoo. It went into double overtime with the roos getting up to push thru to their ill fated tilt at the flag against colbo at onion grass park.

In the all important magoo's, Broady rolled the previously undefeated LBU in this corresponding round last year. Considing the rolls are now reversed locky would be hoping to get a bit of their own back.

My tips for this week
Broadford
Mounts
colbo
and........dunt dunt daaaaaa HUNTLY

Very interested in the talk of Strathfieldsaye as a possible new team to the comp. As one of many Mounts players who live in Strath i would be interested in knowing how Strath would go about attracting players to the club. Will they be throwing plenty of coin at the blokes that live out here???

Personally i just could not see any one being able to match the culture and the club environment that is Mount Pleasant. That is the major draw card, along with the success of course!!!

Surely if they were going to put all this time and cash in to a new club wouldn't they be better off building up the bendigo league, especially with the quality of the facilities on offer i couldn't see the BFL letting those facilities goto a minor league

Fantom, I was involved with the junior footy club a few years back, but have been involved with Mounts a bit, but nothing this year. I heard on the radio today that Billings is stepping aside as he doesn't have time to coach next season, so we probably don't know each other.

hawkfan, the ideas may have been floated, but have they been viciously attempted. I know it is hard to keep the kids, but "not in the best interests of footy". If I were coach, I would be doing what is in the best interests of the Huntly Football Club. No-one else. There are kids in the BFL seconds now, that I know of, who could easily be playing senior football at Huntly. Just need to get them back. The kids that I coached in the juniors a while back, are all getting to senior age too.

As I said previously, the Hawks need to create a fun environment for young footballers, and if they can do that, I am sure young guys would rather play 10 minutes out of Bendigo, than 40 minutes.

I heard that HFC are looking for a new coach now, so anyone interested start applying.

Hey Mr. Oldmanemu
I was out at Huntly tonight watching my little girl train and it appears that someone has somehow worked out who the Fantom is:D. Unfortunately they were wearing a balaclava and were using a digital voice disguiser so I have no idea who it was. Anyway to cut a long story short they have persuaded me to pass on a message to you. You "have to" contact a mother?, sister? no, it was a "brother in law" to have a chat about your future involvement in local football. They said you would know who the brother in law was and it was pretty important for Huntly. Anyway, consider the message passed on.

Fantom:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Oh Yeah. Guy's it aint hard to get your own identity for bigfooty. And can I have my kids back?:D:D

Sorry Emu,

Forgot to mention it was from your old coaching days and the B in law was the shorter one with some sevens in his phone number?

STOP THE TEXT MESSAGES, I HAVE DONE IT

Another milestone game tomorrow, Mick Talbot plays his 400th club game for the hawks, pretty fair effort well done old fella hope the boys out there can lift and make it a great day for you.:thumbsu:

Yeah but didnt the ballarat club evolve from a junior club, therefore if the strath club were to join in the next few years they wouldn't be that far off the rest of the league, the junior club is them 'crawling', where as if they joined the HDFL or LVFL for that matter the club would struggle for longer to rise to the BFL standard, and would most likely stay in the minor league. Where as if they started in the HDFL wouldn't Mounts, Elmore or one of the other domminant clubsin the minor leagues be more inclined to take the step up to the major league footy

Thats what i think everyones got an opinion

Yeah throw Elmore, Colbo and Mounts into the BFL, and we'll take Kangaroo Flat, Strath and get Stanhope, Rushy and Tooboorac back into the mix :D

Looks like it's only you and me tonight RWB the rest of the boys should be out of their trees after the Footy Show today.Did you hear any reports on any of the games yesturday. And by the way i was talking to Teddy today he would like to know how is Terry Wallace 25 year plan is going he is into his 3rd year now not much seems to be happening????????:thumbsu:

Chicken legs, people in glass houses should not be throwing stones. I don't think that we will be accused of 'tanking games like' you pr!cks. Is it three out of the last four years for you and all your jippo mates? And your not making any inroads yet. White Hills and Colbo must have been a good game, I guess we'll have to wait for the boys to sober up before we get any input.

Doona
Had a few cans in the shed at home after AGM for the Heathcote C.C.staying in the SDCA. Hopefully the Foooty Show was a success :thumbsu:

Was a success for those that went, unfortunately your beloved saints were weak as PI$$ along with LBU in not having a presence at all. 2-3 from Huntly, same from Colbo with all other clubs represented ok. Think I counted 61-62 which was disappointing, but in saying that everyone there appreciated the effort that went in and enjoyed what was a ripping afternoon :thumbsu:

Full credit must go to HDFL publicity officer Troy Auld who came up with the concept, ran really well, and i just hope for the league he doesn't sack it for next year, or more importantly Troy dont give up his role with the HDFL after today as he has a passion for it that obviously 3-4 clubs will now never fully understand .

Was plenty of variety with match reviews from yesterday, a netball wrap-up and some interesting topics, quizzes, $1.50 pots - also a good chat with Huntly committeeman Brian Speechley who was as open an honest as he could be about the Hawks' future. Think it as Noony from North who spoke well and was also good to listen to Macrus Mckern, Matty Sawyer, Mick Simpson and Timmy O'Brien who dropped the magic once or twice.

No showing from the old 93.5fm lads, Benny Jones, Cogho c'mon boys????

Again thanks to Troy and the HDFL, pity a few other mobs didn't back you
