Put it this way...if it was a normal home game for StK against Cwood, Cwood would be forced to wear their clash strip (ie the white with black stripes). So if they just wore their traditional heritage top, then none of this would be happening.

The fact that the whole matter went totally under the radar, just suddenly sprung upon us days before the game, is disturbing. Stk forced to just shut up and change. No fine to Cwood. No nothing.

It never ceases to amaze me that when the good folk of Adelaide (apologies to Crows people - their jumper is good) sat down sometime in the mid 90's with a blank sheet for a jumper design they came up with that teal monstrosity - yep they all would of sat back and said "finally we've nailed it ! that is a jumper for the ages , we have truly struck gold!"

It's irrelevant that it's Cwood's home game. The mere fact it's 70's themed heritage means you would be wearing the white strip with black stripes. And therefore Stk wearing theirs.

It's kinda like they're too proud to be wearing what is also a 'clash' version strip at home, so they create a big whine and sook about it.

Which begs the question....why exactly are Cwood so against their traditional jumper, their heritage? Why is it perceived to be a bad thing to be wearing white with black stripes at home? You did for 80 odd years. Your black with white stripes top is only a few years old, has no VFL heritage even.

I've always put Eddie's actions down to the fact that he knows if Port wear the prison bars more than once every five years all the Pie supporters will get confused, move to Adelaide and buy Port memberships

Round 14 celebrates Heritage Round with a salute to the 1970s era. St Kilda's 70's guernsey clashes with Collingwood's nominated guernsey for this match, therefore the Club has chosen to wear its 2007 clash guernsey, which is predominantly white in the designated Heritage Round.

After consultation with the AFL and Collingwood, the Saints made the decision to wear their clash guernsey to ensure that there is no clash with Collingwood’s predominately black guernsey.

While St Kilda would like to wear a guernsey that represents their 1970’s heritage, the Club's decision to wear its clash guernsey was made to avoid the obvious clash with Collingwood’s home guernsey.

In the 1970's Cwood never wore a predominantly black guernsey. Are they somehow excused from Heritage Round that they can wear their post 2000 black strip? Port refused to wear a heritage guernsey in 2006 and were fined $15k or more. Why aren't Cwood being fined for refusing to wear their heritage top? Are they ashamed of their traditional white strip? Or just trying to also create a scene with Stk to have them banned from wearing black-white panels, as Eddie has said he wants to do. Why is the AFL being sycophants here to Cwood?

Ah, yes, but the club will get about $4 from every jumper sold in those shops.
If they sell, say, 250 of them, they might even make a thousand dollars.
And 250 people can say they've played for WA, because they have the jumper.

Don't forget most clubs also auction their match worn jumpers off.

Collingwood made about 40k from their Anzac Day jumpers.

Most clubs will pull in 20k from their Heritage Guernseys.

He has convinced the pie faithful to change their strip "this is the one we wore when we won 4 in a row - this is only collingwood top" when really it was so his sponsors would sit nicely against black and now they refuse to celebrate their heritage and refuse to wear the black on white...is that b/c the sponsors didn't want to FatChins?
