Early prediction, it doesnt recover as well aa hoped and he has surgery in April to repairSam says the “best case scenario” is no earlier than round 4 or 5.
So that suggests it was a grade 2 injury (3 months out) and late April / early May seems more likely.
I would genuinely hope an AFL club wouldn't be that incompetent. With a reconstruction now calling for 18 months out of the game it'd mean losing Mitch for over 2 years.Early prediction, it doesnt recover as well aa hoped and he has surgery in April to repair

Whether it be round 5 or in 3 months time, all I care about is that when he comes back the injury doesn't lingerSam says the “best case scenario” is no earlier than round 4 or 5.

Yep. The psychological side of a someone not playing over that period can really break a player. Fingers crossed surgery isn't required and we just give him the extended time it needs to heal by itself.I would genuinely hope an AFL club wouldn't be that incompetent. Like I said in another thread about 3 weeks ago, I have a very bad feeling about his knee.
Just read an update on him from Sammy saying best case scenario is round 4/5 but any setbacks could cost him months, he seems to do a bit then the knee swells up again.
I would not be surprised if we don’t see him by midway through the season he will be shelved for 2023.
I'll be surprised if we get more than 5 senior games out of him in 2023. Saying setbacks are likely and best case isn't very comforting.
Serong is highly unlikelyHawk Talk Pod are saying Serong is unlikely also with his rolled ankle.
C'mon Fergus... time to shine!
gee that's a shame. Really keen to see him have a go this yearSerong is highly unlikely
If it's Grade 2 then the club are telling porkies.Sam says the “best case scenario” is no earlier than round 4 or 5.

Is there anyone else left now apart from Ferg!? I think we'll have one medium/tall forward across the two teams playing tomorrow!Hawk Talk Pod are saying Serong is unlikely also with his rolled ankle.

Than your looking at somebody who won't have played a game of footy for 18 months. Not a good sign our main forward is injury prone and can't seem to have any luck getting consistently on the park. Unlucky or not he has missed quite a bit of footy and if it's worst case scenario than good luck getting him back to any sort of reasonable form in 2024. 2 and half years of development gone. Still think we get him playing ASAP as long as there are no setbacks and he gets the all clear to return.Big chance we don’t see him this year so anything will be a bonus is the way I am thinking.
It's worse than initially they thought. Might not need surgery but it's right at the pointy end of severity without needing surgery. 3-4 months. 16 weeks your looking at halfway into the year when he may be ready. Bitterly disappointing IMO. Bloke seems to have walked under a ladder.Sam says the “best case scenario” is no earlier than round 4 or 5.

So what's a wrong with him?Serong is highly unlikely

Wouldn’t be the first time an AFL club was more than a little cagey about an injury to a key player. If it's Grade 2 then the club are telling porkies.
