Thomas, Docherty and Everitt arent much in one trade period? Yet White is Collingwood's forward line saviour? yeah ok buddy. noone who actually knows anything about football would agree with you that Carlton didnt do well this trade period and improve the list.

Carlton's performance in the trade period will be judged by the extent of Thomas' ankle injury. My information is that the main ligament (don't know what it is called) is split and cannot be repaired. IF this is true it is hard to see him regaining his 2010/11 form. Be mindful that Thomas spent 14 weeks in rehabilitation during the season and lasted only 7 minutes on his return in a VFL game. By any measure Carlton have taken a huge gamble.

And I'm currently taking a TAFE course in voodoo to make sure it doesn't go well.

Everitt is a dud. Thomas is a great player but you significantly overpaid for him...and you lost Betts on the other side so net no change. Docherty should be ok, feeding on Brisbanes carcass is this years trend.

White is not Collingwoods saviour but hes that extra third tall/second ruck we need. Our big coup is Adams and pick 6

Well Said. No Expects White to be a Gun and Savior. We expect that he can kick a Few Goals and Take Pressure off Cloke. Keep us going for Cloke Every Single Time.

Adams and Pick 6 is the Big Stuff we got

Think the Quayle/Gleeson trade wrap from the Age is fair and balanced, talking about the glass half-full/ empty viewpoints.
Here is the Pies' part:
COLLINGWOOD The Pies were again aggressive in the market. The glass half-full thinking of how they fared is they have picks at 6 and 10 and another first-rounder in Taylor Adams. Of course in a glass half-empty way the thinking is you should get good picks when you lose two A-grade players like Dale Thomas and Heath Shaw. That said, to get down from 11 to 6 by trading out a second-round pick and still ending up with the players they wanted (Adams in as well as Jesse White) was impressive. White is big, quick and athletic and has come off his best year so his trajectory is up. Adams, 20, is a tough but not overly big inside mid. They will hope to make Patrick Karnezis into a big-bodied midfielder. In: White (Sydney), Adams (GWS), Karnezis (Brisbane Lions), picks 6, 44. Out: D. Thomas (Carlton), Shaw (GWS), Paine (Brisbane Lions), picks 11, 31, 44, 49.

Why are people even giving oxygen to talk involving the filth?

Talk should be on what Hine has delivered us in this trade period by positioning us both in the short-term and long-term.

I for one am very happy with all three players we brought into our system as well as prime picks in 6 & 10 with hopefully a "Hine Hail-Mary" special in pick 67.

Mmmm, intriguing, isn't it? Has suggested in interviews that we were getting out of the late rounds, but what if...
Do we need to announce rookie upgrades in advance or can we wait for the draft to play out?

Just the thought of Hine picking someone that late in the fourth round and he turns out to be a player would make opposition supporters lose their half-wit minds even more......lol!

If there was a superstar player in the draft at our pick but his last name was Carlton would we have to pass o_O

Nope, there is always deed poll.

Well done again to all at Collingwood on the results of the trading period. Pies, GWS and Saints all aggressive and the major winners in improving their lists. Most noticeable with Pies as harder to do when you are in contention.

After eight years of finals and backing your coach and recruiters to trade older quality, for youthful excellence, it appears highly likely you may well do the fabled continuous rebuild. Rarely seen and almost impossible to pull off, so well done.

The appreciation for Hine and staff is well deserved. The alternative as we have found out, is bottom of the table time and frequent comparisons with Melbourne. Definitely not as much fun.

can we give hine a lifetime membership . He chooses his sallary
