Hobart gets less rain than any capital city other than Adelaide and half that of Sydney. It is a simple case of the AFL putting in their demands, saying if Tasmania want an AFL team they need a stadium with a roof, not unreasonable given there are a lot of games in Tasmania that are rain affected and rain makes some pretty crappy AFL games, so it is up to Tasmania as to whether they agree or not. No one is forcing them, the AFL have laid out the conditions, and they have to decide if it is worth it or not. They can't have a team in a stadium with no roof as that just makes the AFL product worse.

Along with the rain though is freezing temperatures and often high winds. The most miserable games from a weather perspective I have ever seen are usually in Tasmania.
Huh ?.
The Roos and Hawks games I watched last year in Tassie were completely fine.
Think you are talking out your ass on this one.
His brother, Cameron Owen, was actually on the Swans rookie list a couple of years ago.Mitch Owen could pay the for the stadium on his own.
Watch the IPL offers come in!
Where did I say that all Tasmanian games have shit weather?
So the rationale is that Tassie needs a stadium with a roof because sometimes you get bad weather, but if Tassie doesn’t build a stadium with a roof then they don’t get a team and the Hawks and Roos can keep playing in Tassie stadiums without roofs (sometimes in bad weather) ?.
Was never really a fan of North and Hawthorn playing in Tasmania either.

Oh dear, apparently AFL games can't be played in the cold. But EPL and Gridiron can??? Honestly WTF, how soft is this country becoming?
