Just incidentally they mentioned on 7 that Hodge was being considered for AA Capt. Matthews is on the panel and confirmed that.

Was good to see the warmth between Matthews and Mitchell. great Hawthorn captains

Swan 4 Brownlow

Look at the year his having

Leading Herald Sun awards
Leading footy Show Votes
Up there might even be leading the coaches MVP awards

My theory is you need to have a really good season before you can win the Brownlow and Swan had that last year and umpires would have noticed how he didnt probally get as many votes as he should of

Swan is having a better year then last year he has found the ability to keep us or lift us in games

Just a couple examples

4th Quarter of the Melbourne game
3rd Quarter of the Carlton game
2nd Quarter of the Port game

Was fairly well beaten yesterday by Ling

As good as he's been this year, Brownlow's tend to go to players on winning teams. He'll need to star in the last 7 games and his team will need to win at least 5 of them.
He had 20 posessions, kicked a crucial goal in the last and took a hanger, wouldnt call that fairly well beaten, hodge hurts with his disposals more so than nearly every player in the competition so he doesnt need to get that many anyway. Its just that this yr he is getting 30 plus on a regular basis. Having said that ling did win the battle but not by a whole lot.

he had a very average game yesterday, I think you can admit that, no-one's going to play well every week and yesterday he was well down despite one or 2 things.

And how effective was his disposal yesterday? Hardly damaging. The kick after his 'hanger' was a half volley which was turned over and ended up in a Byrnes goal.
