Next up is 5 in a row. Hasn’t been done since 2006, when we had separate 5 and 6 game winning streaks. Incidentally we only won two games outside of those streaks that year lol.

Anyone know what our longest ever winning streak is?

AFL Tables says 19 games from R15, 1955 to R13, 1956

When was the last time a Dees player kicked 10+?
AFL Tables says Garry Lyon in the 1994 Semi against Footscray

Back to back 20 plus goals first time since 02 apparently.

We've kicked at least 20 goals for 3 weeks in a row. We kicked 20 goals 2 weeks in a row during that year (but not 3) - so I wonder how far we'd have to go back for that, sometime in the early 90's I'd imagine.

To answer my own question (I think) - in round 1 1991 we kicked 2 goals for the day against WCE. We backed that up with 27 goals v Fitzroy, 21 goals v. St Kilda, 23 v. Carlton and 28 v. North.

It's quite impressive regardless of who you are playing. This is an era of team defense where you see 36 blokes at one end for long periods of the game.

We've never won interstate on a Friday night...
Damning, but we haven't actually played many Friday night games away from Melbourne. Last interstate Friday night game was 2006 Semi Final in perth. Before that you have to go back to 2003 against Sydney

Interstate Friday Night Games
2006 Semi Final vs Fremantle = Loss
2003 Round 5 vs Sydney = Loss
1997 Round 3 vs Sydney = Loss
1997 Round 9 vs Port Adelaide = Loss
1997 Round 20 vs West Coast = Loss
1996 Round 5 vs Fremantle = Loss
1995 Round 6 vs Adelaide = Loss
1995 Round 21 vs Brisbane Bears = Loss
1992 Round 16 vs West Coast = Loss
1991 Round 10 vs Adelaide = Loss

We haven't played many Friday night games anywhere.

Yet the AFL hand them out to Carlton and the saints like candy.

Carlton shouldn't have a friday night game for the next 4-5 years just as the AFL banished us for all those years (deservedly so)

Adelaide, in Adelaide, very early 90's. Jakovich's second game. He was opposed to Danny Hughes. In the first quarter Hughes did something Jakovich didn't like so Jakovich turned around and belted him in the goal square. Nothing more came of it. Melbourne got done....
Good memory/research mate!
What a sh*t stat then if we've barely even played an interstate Friday night

I watched it on TV. Though we lost I knew we'd found a player when Jakovich ran straight back at Hughes. I think Jakovich had kicked about 80 goals in the reserves before that...
