Wouldn't have the slightest idea. A properly done set up is not cheap. It's also a matter of do they want an IP style camera system or a closed system.

There's no reason to have your cameras connected online unless you want to be able to access them remotely to see what's going on. Most places that do that do it so they can see the exterior of the building after hours. I wouldn't think a business like a coffee shop in that location would bother - if they even had cameras at all.
The other possibility of course is that the person who knew the passwords etc to access the cameras was stuck inside with the gunman.

I was told, but i don't know, that if your cam is connected to your computer and the computer connected to the net. A hacker can get the footage.

There needs to be some method of remotely gaining access. If the PC is connected to the internet and has no form of remote desktop client installed, it's pretty much impossible to control anything from the outside without user action.
If the camera is connected to the network, it's a different story.

That's not really the point.
In my company the management have the ability to view live camera feeds from all of our buildings, internet connection or not. I would imagine this is still a local network of cameras, isolated from the internet. My boss has a network of IP cameras at his house which he regularly monitors from his work computer. These would be connected to the internet, however like anyone with common sense would, he has adequate security measures imposed on it.
Just because the computers are connected to the internet, it doesn't mean the cameras are connected in the same way.

That sounds like a far better option. I'm sure for these people it's probably quite cathartic to talk about what happened and quite frankly after what they've been through, who can begrudge them trousering a quid or two for talking about it. I know I'd rather be broke and not have to put up with being held hostage by some lunatic, but it would feel a bit voyeuristic to me watching it.
I'm trying to watch as much as I can of both but a little more interested in the Seven footage as they were broadcasting directly from a drop punt away and seem to have greater access

This is the stupid thing with Seven.Last week it was said they'll show it at 6pm,then they changed their mind and put it back to 6.30pm.Now they run the news at 6pm,but it's really only 10 minutes,then start showing the interviews.
How the hell are viewers suppose to know what's on when when the network themselves have NFI ?
