Two bottom 8 sides where on display last night. Your game plan has been figured out, Carlton easily for out of your forward half. Other clubs will have it worked out too.

Richmond won’t make the 8
You seem to be repeating yourself?

Part of our game plan is to have multiple fwd50 entries we had 71 last night to 40 for Carlton, our game plan is already well known stopping it is another thing, 71 i50's is huge, a bit of accurate kicking and this was a 10 goal thrashing.

Luckily we have enough talent to have a cliff to fall off, I suppose.

Being around the top for the last 10 years has been wonderful, and I suspect we'll be there again this year - but it's a long season.

Thankfully we don't play the frenetic style of footy that lead to Footscray's GF then quick decline when the game-style took it's toll. What about you gu....oh :(
Shame your game plan falls in a hole come finals time, hopefully you wont hang around the finals too long your style, much like your club is old and boring, to reliant on home ground advantage and head high tackles to win a flag in a modern 18 team comp.

Surely you want us to go all the way to a Grand Final so you can go #Back2Back.

Terrible conversion from so many I50s. Carlton defense must have been keeping the pressure right up there. And those soft frees to Whinging Jack Riewoldt. All against a 2017 bottom 4 team down two rotations and a ruckman. My word.

Seems we finally have Geelongs * flags included in the polls.

I think the result should end this debate, congratulations geelong_crazy26 and frggr you are now supporters of the worst Premiers in history.

Hrm, seems I voted for them too. Must mean the AFLs equalisation policy has made its way to the Bay. Kudos!

It's OK, Tigers fans. We all really do respect your Bradbury. Really. No word of a lie. Everyone does.

(chefmeister maryjames! How could you!)

Yes bad kicking is bad football but we still managed to score heavily, 1st round is always blighted by poor disposal, achieve those levels of fwd 50 entries in the GF and we are going to smash whoever gets there as our opposition, b2b here we come.

Ahhhh well, it's a long season. Maybe 'the boys' will learn about the protected zone before their September holidays.

Hard to dispute fact even for cat fan I guess, kudos to you and I hope your upcoming drought doesnt drag on another 44 years.

That's it, underestimate them :thumbsu:

They figured out you need to kick more then 5 goals to win a game against us.

Curnow and Wright - 5 goals each
Geelong - 5 goals total :$

It was only fair that one of the strongest reigning Premiers in history should help out our little blue buddies by giving them a 4 or 5 goal leg up, the peoples club wants everyone to enjoy our ruling dynasty, when you are as good as Richmond there is no need to show off.

Lol you were insolvent in the 90's, unfortunately a tin rattle only works for big clubs with big hearted supporters, hopefully you will be able to pay your debts off in the near future and join us as a debt free Victorian club.

Who needs to rattle tins when your biggest supporter runs a "fruit & veg" empire?

Unfortunately, some clubs have to pay for upgrades to their home grounds, but that's the way it goes.

It’s round 1 dumbarse, continue to focus your energies on playing your best during the H&A and getting exposed when it matters.

It got changed by Schwarz the moderator after throwing a tantrum and he merged all the results into one category, then I added the other two back. Very unprofessional moderator to say the least.

I guess it’s not the first and last time Richmond and bulldogs have received moderating assistance from higher up to achieve results! Lol. Sounds all too familiar!

Moderator threw a tantrum and changed it. Pretty unethical mod to change people’s polls and threads, but I guess some just aren’t very good at being mods as emotions dictate.

I find some humour and irony in it; another bulldogs tigers result that required management interference.

Doesn’t that just sum up the entire thread lol.

Were unquestionably harder to win and thus significantly more noteworthy than winners in the previous 3 or 4 years given that the competition has stabilized and returned to 'normal' somewhat after having several drafts compromised.

Got blown out of portion in the last quarter and a bit with Carlton’s two man bench. Carlton early on where dominating all areas of the game.

When Carlton has a full bench and fresh legs, they where transitioning the ball out of your forward line with absolute ease. You didn’t have the capacity to pressure as they have worked out your game plan.

Every game plan has its weaknesses, those sides who have much less talent get found out a lot easier and the damn bursts much bigger when exposed.

Your lack of talent is going to see a very sharp drastic drop with sides figuring out how to easily transition the ball out of your forward half like Carlton showed.

I couldn’t help but laugh quite loud last night while watching it thinking “ I have been told by Richmond supporters this is supposed to be the greatest pressure side of all time, and i am here watching a wooden spoon contender at the MCG slice the ball out of their forward half like its made of butter”.

Just a complete mediocre side that has been found out and doesn’t have the quality of players to do it without a superior plan. Will finish 9th-13th range

I get it, it hurt that nobody respects or rates your premiership and position it as one of the all time worst. It’s time to move on and just be grateful the AFL made such changes to allow it to happen. Be a realist about it like me

Carlton scored 97 points against Richmond at the MCG. Carlton are one of the lowest scoring sides in the AFL.

This shows how teams have now figured out easily how to cut through Richmond’s pressure game.

Next week against Adelaide will probably be a 10 goal slaughter to Adelaide

The dimensions are definitely fine. No reason we shouldn’t play home finals there.
It's too long (that's what she said) for my liking. Need to widen it because there isn't a lot of room on the wings. KP is 115 wide and MCG is 146 wide. that's a whole 15 metres on each side. It is fine for now but eventually down the track the AFL needs to enforce a standard size for AFL ovals.
