Hypothetical: Next Collingwood coach? (Think this is disrespectful? OK, OK, we get it)

Is this thread out of line?

  • This is embarrassing, we should all be supporting Buckley.

  • Buckley won't be coach forever, let's have an adult conversation about his replacement

Not sure why we'd want to take a punt on another unproven coach like Dew or Caracella when our current unproven coach isn't ticking he boxes.

Either we get a veteran coach with runs on the board or stick with Buckley.
Dew has had a 7 year apprenticeship as has Caracella. Dew is very highly regarded at Sydney in a great culture and Caracella was at Geelong in their good years and is responsible for Richmond's turnaround this year.

Hardly untried.

Buckley had 2 years under an unsupportive Malthouse.

Yep.

Of course, with our luck, he'll have Gold Coast at 6-5, in the 8 and Lynch talked into re-signing by mid-season...
Nah, they're Gold Coast, they'll burn more coaches than we burn posters.

On the beach.

White lines.... on the field ofcourse

Missing out on Dew in favour for Buckley will come back to bite us, bookmark it.

Dew comes across like a man who is destined to be a very good coach, whether he works out at Gold Coast remains to be seen but I have seen enough from him to anoint him a premiership coach in the waiting. He's had a long apprenticeship and knows the caper better than most assistant coaches would know, I fear Tom Lynch being lured way from the Suns, Dew will do everything in his power to keep him a Sun. Collingwood miss out again on a big fish, best we can hope to get is Schache in the future, but he's no Lynch.

Dew has accepted the poison chalice. He may get an assistant role somewhere when he fails at GC.

With Stuart Dew as coach, Mark Evans in charge, Gold Coast will be better than many people imagine. If they keep Lynch I am predicting them to play finals in 2019.

Would of loved Dew. 9 year apprenticeship. Stepped up when he felt he was ready for the top job.
Really hope they do well under him.
Looking fwd to see his gameplan/style he implements
