I know. My threat is hollow anyway.
But the thought of another year of dimmas game plan and now maybe giving up on class kid for a injury prone very good footballer is pretty depressing stuff. Oh and also talk of the club losing 2 mil this year after rattling tins not long ago.
Is there anything this club could do that gives us fans something to cheer about.

That's why we pay big bucks to recruiters. They are meant to be able to do that. You haven't even mentioned the difference in coin or does that not suit your argument? Add to that the injury concerns that Prestia has....
Does it matter? Things change.
I think we all need to calm down , god if we looked at the recent years top 10 picks there is busts all over the place , there is also bargains outside of it ! Who says there isn't another Cripps , Fyfe in the teens etc

What's my argument? I'm not fussed whether we trade #6 or not. Our development has been average anyway. I would prefer we didn't use #6 but I'm not going to have a hissy fit if we do.
We also pay big bucks for people to make these trades.

I don't care for their U18 stats. I never keep track of kids coming through etc.
Haven't heard of any of those you mentioned before.
of course it matters, what picks do the gold coast currently have? I'm curious because in one breath they were telling Hawthorn they want a ready made player not a pick yet they tell us they want a pick.
What are their plans for our pick 6 that's what we should be trying to work out.

You never keep track of the kids, don't care about junior stats, and yet you're certain the draftees will be worse than prestia???
Seriously????
WTF?
It shouldn't matter. Just don't give them pick 6. If Prestia was still contracted and we wanted him then they could demand anything. They are not in that position.

Big part is the fact prestia has struggled to get on the park thanks to injury. The guy has a history, and is a risk because of it. Also hi same performances have been good, but he's shown no signs that he will be a dominant player.
He's a good player with an injury history, that isn't worth pick six in a good draft year
Look at the Swans for example do you think they are now happy with pick 14 for Mitchell when the very next day Hawthorn secure pick 10?
I agree with you about not giving them pick 6 but id also want to know why they want it so desperately.
Well, you can judge them when they were at the same stage of their careers. Prestia was a good junior but he was nowhere near as good as the top 6-7 are this year.I'm not certain? Everyone else is certain they will be better though
Is that too hard for you to understand? Or you just can't be bothered doing a comparison?
I think his point is how can you be certain a kid playing against kids is going to come in & be better then an established player who is borderline a grade ? You can't , it's a risk ! You obviously know the juniors well , but it's just a risk & that's why the top players drafted don't always turn out as well as initially thought !

You can't compare U18 level to what a player has done at AFL level.
I'm sure plenty of kids have been awesome in the U18s and become spuds, we've drafted plenty.
Prestia is a known quantity. The undrafted kids are a gamble.
And Prestia is an injury risk that will cost us a significant portion of our TPP. If he goes down, we're toast. If our pick 6 isn't a superstar it at least doesn't cost us the earth.
