I want Voss back

I'm not sure if anyone heard him on the ABC pre match yesterday, but it was rivetting and at the same stage embarrassing for the club. You just get the sence that as a coach he was on the cusp of something and he's 100% committed to pursuing it in any way or shape he can as long as it fits in with his family. He's definately not coming back to coach us under any circumstances, thought he made that clear the day of his press conferenece, but he mentioned he was taking advice from Lethal and Walls and once the decision was made, it was time to move on, regardless of whether he thought it was fair or not.

He needs to do a much better job of selling himself.

Voss said he was unlikely to apply for any vacant senior roles, preferring to focus on returning to work as an assistant coach.

"I'd be more than happy just to trundle along and be an assistant somewhere," Voss said.

How about: 'really looking forward to my next challenge as an assistant coach at another club'.

Nobody wants someone who will 'just trundle along'.

You needed to listen to him on the ABC, then you would be in no doubt about what he's after and how keen he is to continue his coaching journey.

Yeah, I missed that one. But he also sounded pretty deflated when asked about his future on channel 7.

Anyway, I'd imagine every prospective employer would be paying close attention to everything he says publicly on this subject.

Well he was on top of his game on the radio - the whole discussion probably went for half an hour, at the end of it Stan Alves came on and said that it was some of the best stuff he had heard and he wanted to congratulate him on what he had achieved to date and to assure him that he still had a lot of coaching ahead of him. They asked for his input from a coaching perspective on the game in pre match. Over the course of the discussion (which probably went for 1.5hrs) you could hear every other commentator in the box just be won over by him. Towards the end Drew Morphett basically paraphrased - well Brisbane must be a bunch of ****wits for letting you go!

He has no offers in front of him at the moment, so he's just being truthful saying he's open to anything. But regardless you know he's going to be successful in whatever he does, he just loves the game.

I wish sacking Vossy had never happened.

It ruined the Gala Auction, it put a damper on the near-toppling of Geelong, and it made the Club Champion Dinner unusually tense. Did anyone else that any mention of Vossy (particularly in Joel's speech) seemed almost taboo?

From what I have read, and I wasn't there, Joel did the right thing and openly acknowledged Vossy. Jeez, this whole fiasco gives me the absolute shits.

He did, but there was a feeling around that maybe Vossy was a topic to be avoided, and Joel just decided to say "Stuff the system, Vossy means more to me than that."

And that is why I respect him so much.

If true I'm happy he's gotten another job and one at a club that's not a complete basket case (beyond being collingwood).

That being the case I still don't want them to play any better ;)

Everything just keeps going from bad to worse.

Such a friggin mess this club and bloody Angus still sitting there getting his rocks off at the carnage he has created.
