Secondly, you’re basically nailing someone for being too good.

‘Oh well if he’d just be shit, it would force his teammates to improve. That’s the real mark of a great player. Being shit. Carey stunted North’s development because he kept stealing marks and goals off the other forwards.’
Not at all. I'm nailing him for being selfish.

22 players out there, your best 2 seem to be all about "Me me me".

What does that even mean? How is Selwood even part of this conversation?

Explain to me how Dangerfield is all about himself?

He loves being the centre of attention. That’s not being argued.
If you offer him a choice between getting 0 Brownlow votes and a flag, of 50 votes and no flag, if you seriously think he’d pick the latter, you’re dumber than a box of hammers.

Go watch the Final between Richmond and Geelong and tell me which of Martin, Cotchin, Selwood and/or Dangerfield are playing selfish football.

The winner will be tainted and it will be the biggest farce since Ian Collins ensured C.Grant got given a match break for something not even considered worthy to be reported by the umpires.

The fact that the AFL has effectively altered its rules to stop a significant player and one other from being suspended for the grand final for an identical act to what Dangerfield got rubbed out for shows how tainted and hypocritical the MRP is.

There is no ability for the AFL to try and justify how the decisions were different and thus it is completely ridiculous that Dangerfield is not contending.

Why do I say within 3 votes? Because this is the number of eligible votes Dangerfield could have received had he played the game he got banned for.

This is another awesome example of the AFL having one rule in the season and another in the finals.
Quality Thread.

suck it up princess.

Dangerfield probably wont come second.
If the umpires decided after the suspension that Dangerfield gets no further votes, then he won't come 2nd. He did have 2 if not 3 BOG's afterwards.

Martin has been the best player all year, a couple of numbers difference in the count doesn't change that.

You failed when you said the cotchin and Dangerfield incidents were identical acts.

Yeah selwood’s 19 touches reeked of selfishness.

Are you seriously going to use one match to try and define a player’s character, approach and team ethic?

Sorry mate but you are the primary reason I’m going for Adelaide. At least their fans have a moderate understanding of what’s unfolding.

Martin should have handed off those three shots he missed on Saturday to teammates. Selfish footy.

Didn't Dangerfield get off on a high bump last year while Brownlow favourite?

Hope he gets more votes than Martin, he won't, but I really hope he does. Would love to see the melts when Dangerfield has to hand over the Charlie to Dusty.

I don't - I can't imagine how that would make Dusty feel. Fwiw I think he will romp it home and it won't even be an issue

Gawd if dusty doesnt win this by a mile is when id be asking questions

Easily the best player this year

Danger surely is at least a chance to vote higher. Danger lead Dusty for average Disposals, Marks, Goals, Tackles, Clearances, Contested Possessions, Effective Disposals and had less Clangers and Turnovers.

Never mind the contentious hit that rubbed him out, Danger should've been suspended for the ridiculous ducking and diving act he learnt from his mate Joel.
