It's a moot point really to suggest he look in a dictionary. If he did have one (that's a pretty low chance to begin with) do you reckon he'd be able to look up the word flog, without tearing his hair out?

Well given it's an internet forum, and you are so feverishly hitting the F5 button to see who has responded to your posts, I didn't think the ommision of a comma would have been an issue. But sorry, what I mean to say was "It's a moot point really, (notice the comma for your benefit) to suggest he look in a dictionary. Apart from that, my language is fine.
Since we're harping on grammar, (notice the use of the comma again) maybe you should have inserted a question mark at the end of the sentence, or at least a full stop.
