I recently became ITW member and managed to get 2 tickets for the hawks game by ringing up at 10am on the dot. Got put in block 311, row RR. I printed off the tickets and saw 'Restricted View' on the top and straight away thought oh f#ck, I have been put behind a pillar, you f#ckers!!

In the end it turned out fine and only one of the seats had a slight restriction of the western goals. There were others near us that were put right behind the pillars and had no chance of seeing the game and had to move. Why do they even sell these seats?? Its a joke if you ask me.

I tried to suss out the problem areas and there seems to be 2 pillars per block between blocks 308-313. The pillars are on row PP so rows QQ and up and seats 1-10 and 25/26 onwards are going to give you the most problems. If you get rows AA-PP they are non restricted. Does this sound about right??

Just transferred my interstate membership to an in the wings. I'm not likely to be able to just 'duck' (hehehe) over to Melbourne anymore as I could in Launnie.

Even refunded me $ for the price difference.

Getting back to the subject of In The Wings membership, I reckon there would be a substantial number of people holding memberships that are in someone elses name. I personnaly know a couple of people who have taken up a friend or family members seats that they didn't want anymore. I even know one bloke paying the membership of a dead mate of his. Doesn't seem fair that some get in through the back door while others have to wait for years.
Might be hard to organise but I think the club should attempt to do an audit to weed out the queue jumpers.
At this rate I'll be dead before I get a membership.

Problem is the eagles wont let you change the name on the membership. We have had 3 seats since 95, me my old man and the other was my sister's. She hasn't come for about 6 years and now my brother in law uses it. We tried to change the name on the card but they said it cant be changed because he is not a "family" member, ridiculous really, if you are paying the membership you should be able to have whatever name on it you want.

I suppose when you have a waiting list of 15,000 people you need some way of stopping people from just selling them to others for profit, when you have said 15,000 legitimate would-be members waiting for their turn who would otherwise not get anywhere.

When you look at it from this perspective, it makes more sense.

Good point, unfortunately I'd say the ITWM's will have to wait until the year 3000 when the new stadium is built.

In 5 years I've gained 1200 or so places. I gained 105 last year, and am about 2605 or therabouts now. So, based on that I'll be a seated member in time for the 2037 season. And that's fairly at the front if the queue!

That's based on a year where interest was high. Not every year is going to be a good year.

The Physio I was treated by last year at Subiaco Sports Clinic was talking about his membership, turns out he was only in the wings for 2 or 3 years (these are recent years). I'm thinking the system might be open to a little back scratching/cracking.

Don't they send you an email with it on for every home game?
If your not getting the emails, check your junk mail, and make sure your email address is correct with the club

To be honest, I really don't want tickets now. I am just an in the wings member for when I will want them in 5 or more years (once I've settled down and am not going out every weekend, all weekend).

It is also a good way to support the club. I get to 4-5 games a year now, in a combination of comped tickets (thanks Coke, 96fm and Nova), mates seats and purchasing through the seat resale, which is more than enough for me.

That's good timing - about the only way 'in the wings' "members" will get tickets is when the new stadium is built. So should work out well with your five year plan

I forgot to even try. I got multiples to the Saints game though..

'gold premium' too, hopefully they are worth the $75 a piece I had to pay.

Was a member about 5/6 years ago and I remember being at around 3500ish. Didn't realise how close I was then. Barely worth rejoining now
