I'm looking forward to watching this blockbuster series but unfortunately the weather forecast doesn't look good for the first test.

Heavy rain forecast for the first two days and more rain scheduled for the other days, at least the drainage at that ground is good.

Not a problem for India...They just beat Bangladesh with basically the first 3 days washed out.

That maybe so but it's still pretty stupid of the BCCI to schedule a test in Bangalore at this time of year when it rains a lot there.

It's as stupid as CA scheduling tests in Sydney when it rains a lot in early January there instead of scheduling it in Perth instead.

India winning the toss and choosing to bat.

The two teams;

India: 1 Rohit Sharma (capt), 2 Yashasvi Jaiswal, 3 KL Rahul, 4 Virat Kohli, 5 Sarfaraz Khan, 6 Rishabh Pant (wk), 7 Ravindra Jadeja, 8 R Ashwin, 9 Kuldeep Yadav, 10 Jasprit Bumrah, 11 Mohammed Siraj

NZ: 1 Tom Latham (capt), 2 Devon Conway, 3 Will Young, 4 Rachin Ravindra, 5 Daryl Mitchell, 6 Tom Blundell (wk), 7 Glenn Phillips, 8 Matt Henry, 9 Tim Southee 10, Ajaz Patel, 11 Will O'Rourke

Gill is out with a stiff neck but it's still a strong Indian batting line up and stronger than NZ's batting line up without Williamson.

Shades of Haddin v RSA there with Sarfaraz.
Looked a clear plan to target him outside off.

Some good bowling from the NZ bowlers but some reckless batting from India, Rohit and Sarfaraz in particular.
