CARLTON

Cain Ackland (nose) - test
Shaun Grigg (shoulder) - available
Joe Anderson (hamstring) - 2 weeks
Dylan McLaren (knee) - 2 weeks
David Teague (wrist) - 2 weeks
Eddie Betts (hamstring) - 2-3 weeks
Cameron Cloke (shoulder) - season
Nick Stevens (neck) - season

Saw Cain injure himself-that would probably explain his apparent decrease in effort on Friday night.

Grigga back and playing for the Ants, named in the best in his first week back. Would have debuted already if not for injury, will debut before the end of the year.

Looks like Ando and Eddie may return in the same round-they will probably both need to come back through the Bullants to get some match fitness back into them.

Teague and McLaren also back around that time-well, hopefully they can contribute well for the Ants :D

Clokey and Stevo-well, bring on 2008!

wasn't he named best for the bullants on sunday

With our defensive problems, why not play Teague?

After all, he is a B & F winner. Some people have written off Saddo, at least give Teague a chance before he is also written off.

EDIT: Yes, he was named in the best players on the weekend for the Ants against Williamstown.

Williamstown 16.20.[116] def. Northern Bullants 5.6.[36]

Goal Kickers: Young, Raso, Williams, Bower, Jacobs
Best Teague, Dud, Grigg, Jamison, Iacobucci, Raso

saddington has a height advantage over teague which puts him ahead.

And you guys call Banno a dud, keep in mind, Banno played his first game this season in defence, and then his second game he followed Chad Cornes all night, he has kicked more goals than Kennedy (who played mostly in the forward line), he has 7 less possessions in 5 less games, more tackles, just about the same amount of kicks.

I don't know how you guys can call Banno a dud while still talking up Kennedy, we would have been better off playing 1 short this season than playing Kennedy, he has shown absolutely nothing, and these stats prove it, and don't give me anything about "he has had the same amount of leads as Fevola", the past 3 weeks (exc. Friday night) goes to show that the players have confidence in Waite, Lappin & Fisher (and Whitnall when he's down there), so they kick it to them and don't always look for Fev, they don't have confidence in Kennedy, because he too often drops easy marks or gets beaten in the contest, he hasn't shown his team-mates that they should kick to him, so they always go for Fev. Yet, I'm constantly attacked because I don't think Kennedy is any good, someone tell me why is he good?

how long till this comparison is blamed on someone else (other than the player)

You forgot the two stats that matter:

Kennedy:
Age: 19
Games: 17

Bannister
Age: 24
Games: 51

And you forgot that Bannister is a Pagan love child, whereas Kennedy barely gets used by him.

Basing that on this season are you?

Kennedud was given 8 games to show SOMETHING, JUST SOMETHING! Of which, he didn't do, Banno was given a run in the side when Pagan thought the right match-up(s) presented themselves, which they did, and Banno excelled.

The way Kennedud is going, he wont get to 50 games before he turns 24 either.

Oh honestly DC, the more you go on about this, the more pedantic it really seems.

What did you want? An 18 year old to come in, rescue our team, win over CHF, kick 3 goals each week and automatically become the next Brown???

Jarrod Roughead. Nathan Ablett. Ring any bells??? Think about their development, and the fact that it has taken them 3 years to start having an impact.... and what a great impact it has been too!

Honestly DC, you say you support this club, by why you refer to our own players as 'Kennedud' instead of his actually name is a joke. Show some support, some loyalty to the people who are playing for your club.

I realise you're easily upset when people bag out Bannister, which is fair enough. But to resort to the same kind of put-downs about other players really is quite pathetic.

Bannister and Kennedy are two very different type of players. One is a lumbering 19 year old CHF. The other is a 187ish fast matured bodied hard running midfielder/running backman who is 24. They therefor play two different types of game, and require two different sets of play.

Bannister has been played as a tagger, using his pace and experienced body to basically 'kill or be killed' within the midfield/flanks. Stop his man getting the ball, adn by doing so, get it yourself.

kennedy is a tall, developing player who has spent a vast majority of his time rotating between the bench, the forward line and the ruck. Note that the majority of his time has NOT Been in the forward line this year.

Kennedy has worked hard to create space in games, however has often been overlooked as players went to a 3 on 1 contest with fevola. Bannister does not have to rely on other players direct passes to him to be a success - when you say Kennedy has SHOWN NOTHING" i do not think you are taking into account the different type of players they are and the different types of game set up that they are allocated to.

This is kind of a strange comparison. What is the deal? I think Bannnister, with the exception of last week, has done really well with limited oportunities this year. I don't think we should hold the last game against him since he was not the worst and no one really played well. Kennedy on the other hand has been given oportunities based on future benefit. I think he has shown the odd glimpse but not enought to warrent his place in the side. That being said, I think it was good to give him a good chance since I am sure most Carlton people consider him a big part of our future (rightly or wrongly).

I guess Kennedy is an example of what can happen when you play guys too early. There were probably better options and I don't think he has really benefited from playing for Carlton before he was ready but I maintain that it is difficult to fault the MC for their objectives. Bannister on the other hand is a good example of what can happen when you apply yourself and just keep presenting. Either way, I don't understand what this comparison is about. They are totally different players at different stages of their careers.

Banno went well on the weekend.
Hodge will be out for the next month with bruising to his feet and hands, he had that many touches.

Yeah, from what I hear he's having trouble sitting down as well.......they really should tone down the post match celebrations.......but they are a happy team down there........one might say they were quite Gay after the win.:p

Yes, honestly DC! Classic.

good if acklands game was spoilt by an injury and not him playing like a crab and also grigg sounds like a real part of our future.

by the way i think eddie wont have to play in ants he will come strait in.

Banno certainly had a bad one on Friday night, although so did most of the players in Navy Blue.
HBF, bannister is a sh1tbox, i hope he never plays another game for carlton ever again:thumbsdown:
bring back kennedy i say, DC this is your calling i suppose:rolleyes:

That's a bit harsh mate. His games against Johnson and C.Cornes were pretty darn good. Still think he might be in a bit of trouble to hold onto his place on the list at years end. He needs to do much more than play 2 good games.
