That's ok..I didn't realise it would have been an issue...I was just introducing myself...not that there would anyone here that would even be remotely interested in my business; I was just making a point that my business name was aligned to the Power in a quirky way... aka club alliegence etc..

I want to see Butcher as the sub,

Play Westhoff, Schulz and bring in Redden

And then for a quarter or so bring on the Johnny Butch for Redden/Renouf (one of them will be buggered you just know it) and watch him kick 3 goals in a quarter and a half!

Very hard to match up on, maybe we could even swap him for a midfielder that is slow as it is? Matt Thomas looking at you here

I find it funny how Matt Thomas gets 16 disposals this week playing pretty much unopposed on the HFF and he's a legend who should never be dropped again, whereas Travis Boak gets 16 disposals this week while under a hard tag and after collecting over 100 disposals in his last 4 games of football and he's an overrated spud who should be dropped and traded.

Well one was a very high draft pick who is probably one of the highest paid at the club, whilst the other was a preseason pick who has battled horrific injuries and nobody has expectations of. I'd say that's fair enough that we expect boak to perform at a higher level

I'd say that one being a high draft pick who we all expect a lot out of and the other being an average player who even on his good days doesn't do much more than the high draft pick player on his bad days is more of a reason to persist with the good player and cast away the player without much potential.

Sick of saying it

I dunno, I don't get the thomas bashing, he has great intent and is the one player on our list who throws his body around, yeah he makes some dumb decisions, but he was also one of the main reasons we won against the Roos. I know which will get dropped for a poor game first.

Also no "drop Ebo, he destroys our forward structure...."

Ebert is fine if he plays how he did last week before Butcher was subbed. Should pretty much be banned from going within 30-40 metres of the goal, but he's good on a HFF. One of the few guys on the list who can kick.

I think the role he played was a lot better than one he had played in the past
Yeah but as if that'll last. Once we hit a side that floods half back like so many do, he's back to clogging because he lacks the agility and crumbing ability to work well in tight space, or the height to just stand tall and outmark.

I don't think he'll last in the side for over 5 games to be honest, by the time that happen think players like Newton will be on the cusp

ive seen a few mentions for lobbe... how is his sanfl form? will he be match fit for afl? i seen he got in the best players on the weekend...but i would stilll prefer redden ahead of him though..

I don't understand the Redden over Lobbe love - Redden had a solid start to his AFL career this year, but Lobbe was as good in the ruck and better around the ground last year. Can't wait for him to come back!

Because Redden directs it better and gets less caught up in arm wrestling.

Well I can't really comment on this, as all I've noticed in the ruck when they're both lead ruck is we get smashed, no matter how their technique is.

But I will say this:

Matthew Lobbe averages 3.6 tackles a game, which is excellent for a ruckman.

Jarrad Redden has 2 tackles from 3 games.

Got the vibe from Primus earlier this week that he would like to play with no changes.

Would still like to see Moore and Redden/Lobbe get a run. That would be it for me this week.

Out: Cassisi (Rested/lol), Westhoff (Retire)
In: Moore, Lobbe

I find it hard to give a shit about ruckman tackles (though really I'm off statistics in general, to be honest). It means they're a trier, but I'd (just about) take a lazy deadeye tap over a ruckman best known for tackling.

in an ideal world, after lobbe has had a good run in the sanfl, i'd like to see these two as our two ruckmen. both playin, none of this one ruckmen stuff, bith are good enough to play forward. renouf has had one good game for us.

I'm not even trying to talk him up as this tackle machine - I'm just saying he may get beaten in the air (like they both do) - but he's not getting beaten on the ground. Tackles by a ruckman basically translate to second efforts at stoppages, cos they're not gonna be running down midfielders.

I'd rather have that guy, than the guy who may get 1 or 2 more hitouts to advantage, especially with our midfield.

`To advantage' is a funny term, because its far too all-encompassing. Like how Kane Cornes and Paul Chapman are somehow comparable by similar disposal stats.

We've had ruckmen get hitouts `to advantage' all through this year, but not one of them is on par with a form Brendan Lade `to advantage'.

To be Choco for a minute, I'd take 10 Lade advantages over 20 Biglands ones.

lol k. That's exactly what i said is it?

My point was that he "might" just keep his spot. I fear very much for Matt Thomas making the cut at the end of the year, and would be bloody stoked to see him choose to retire at 32 or whatever.

I'm just hoping to get to see him stay in the side.

If that is calling a guy a legend, then so be it.

As for Boak, I have complete faith that he will come good for us. His game against Collingwood was IMO his best ever, but he is no where near his best at the moment which to me, should mean playing in the reserves.

So basically, Matt Thomas' best is decent, so if he's playing decent, he should be in the side.

But Travis Boak's best is amazing, so if he's only playing decent, he should be dropped?
