Ins & Outs: Prelim Final vs Captain Collapse's Crew

For me there is one definite change:

In: Morris
Out: Hahn

Then a second possible change:

In: Cooney (wow!)
Out: Hooper

If Coon Dog ain't right though and I am tipping he won't be yet, then the second change should be thought through heavily.

I am a massive wrap for both Everitt and (particularly) Jones, however we don't really want to go in top heavy to this game, and a lot will depend on the weather. Who would the Saints match-up on Hooper or Jones / Everitt.

Ideally the MC should work out whichever player gives the defence the biggest headache and go with them.

Huge call about the second change!!!

If its good conditions Saturday night I think we go in with a tall forward line to stretch the Saints backs, we all know Grant, Hall and Jones can take a mark and we need lots of quick kicks into the forward line no mucking around with it and I back Hall, Grant and Jones over the Saints key defenders.

If it gets too crowded or we need help in defence Jones has played back before and he could definently go back and do a good enough job, and Grant can play up the ground on the wing and use his speed.

I think we go in with a forward line of:

Grant, Jones, Gia
Hooper, Hall, Johnno

Play Johnno deep, we all saw his marking last week it was still great and he can snag us a few goals and we dont really want him up the field if his kicking is like last weeks.

Maybe even send Murph down there for some extra speed Hooper was an AA BP in the u18s so maybe we can see how he goes down there covering for Muph.

EDIT: I also think we should give Gia more room in the middle, remember his performance when Boyd was out with his hand, it was awesome so I think he should spend a fair bit of time in the middle.

IN: Morris, Hill
OUT: Hahn, Hooper

Think the MC will go with Hill's marking ability this week. We will most likely play a lock down keepings off game style again and will need the extra aerial strength.

Big risk IMO...you never know what Josh you are going to get. If we get good Josh then fine but bad Josh can be a stinker. I still think there'll only be one change, Morris for Hooper.

I hope you are as wrong as I think you are. Josh Hill In ? .... based on past effort...vfl form.... showing desire to be part of it....

I guess it's a joke?

hooroo....

Josh Hill diesn't deserve a game. However I do remember walking away from last years prelim after my failed suicide attempt thinking that Hill was the type of player that could have kicked a couple of valuable goals in such a low scoring game. It's just frustrating that he still hasn't pulled his finger out, because he has so much ability

Thats the very reason why i think hill can come in. HIs capable of scoring a couple of goals even if he looks liek doing nothing. His scoring record this yr aint bad. Just think that with the style we may go into this game we may need someone who can take a pack mark and hill's our best one. Won't be shocked to see him in.

In: Morris & Everrit
Out: Minson & Grant

Couldn't decide if it should be Grant or Hahn to go, sticking with Hahn for a bigger body.

No point having Will sit on the bench for most of the game, Everitt and Williams can pinch hit there and be better around the ground. Barry to do all ruck work closer to goal to use hs strength and hudson to sit a kick behind.

Everrit to run with Goddard, big ask but Goddard always kills us in the air floating down back, Everrit could restrict that and run with him also

Probably wont happen, but hear me out...

Minson out - Wasnt bad last week but I think we risk it and go with Hudson rucking 70-80% of the game with Williams rucking the rest. With Lake on Kosi and Morris on Riewoldt, Williams doesnt really have a match up.

Hooper out - His goal wasnt bad but for a small forward he really needed to do more.

Morris in - Reports seems to be he's ok so he comes in to take Riewoldt.

Not sure who else in. Agree I would love to have a Josh Hill type in there, Everitt type aswell but i cant see them coming in for this game. Because of this I reckon Minson will be retained.

Geez I wish Cooney was right :(

I really don't like this, it would be a lesser risk if we dropped Williams or Hahn. We really need to smash them in the ruck and the midfield to have any chance.

Ins Morris, Jones, Cooney (hopefully a miracle happens)
Out Hahn, Hooper, Eagle

Murphy to start up forward. Lake to also go forward at times with Williams covering the resting ruck and Kosi when Lake moves forward.

I would not go for jones. His not won many marking contests or pack marks. This is pretty much what our forward line may deal with. Yes jones chases hard but i think we need hills marking and scoring ability this week. Goals will be hard to come by.

Would you take either over Hahn?

I though hahn had a very good game in the second half over sydney with his hardness. Seemed much more confident being moved back to the forward line. His also capable of taking strong marks and generally is a good set shot for goal. He provides a more physical side to the forward line while Josh hill will give us a more areial threat and unpreditibility. I just think we need as much fire power as we can against the saints and as it stands Hill is showing to be a better scoring option. Hard choice. Glad im not the MC

When has he taken a strong mark lately and he's struggled this year with his set shots for goal. Sure he was good around the contests against Sydney in the 2nd half but what did he do as a forward? He struggled in the forward line and my guess is they would have played through his man at every opportunity as usual. I'd gladly choose Hill, Everitt or Hooper over Hahn everyday of the week.

Just seems people are looking at Hahn's past rather then what he can do now the MC included.

Did he get many oppertunities to take marks. I think we barely look for him on the lead. His kicking style has always been wobbly but they seem to find the middle of the big sticks. Like i said Hill would be a good in due to his goalkicking and marking attribute's but hahns work around the contest is important aswell. It's gonna be a lock down type of game. Both would be handy but they both won't fit in.

I think this because Hahn doesn't get much seperation from his opponent as it seems he's even slower. Again his kicking for goal has been poor this year. If Hahn offers us nothing as a forward like he's doing, I'd rather go for another midfielder like Moles.
