I liked these 2 parts especially:

"Petruccelle has turned heads on the track during an uninterrupted pre-season, standing out with his improved running capacity, attack on the contest, and line-breaking ability."

"It prompted Petruccelle to link up with a fitness coach in the off-season who specialised in movement and mobility, completing a program that has left him more flexible and confident in his hamstrings."

I'll believe it when I see it

Read the rest of the article, where he says he's been training with Tom Cole all preseason to greatly improve his running?

Lad's got plenty of talent but fitness and body held him back the past couple of seasons.

I like that he's training in a group with Edwards, Williams, Cole, Witherden and O'Neill. If we're going to be any good, they're the kind of guys who need to improve this year and it sounds like they're taking the responsibility seriously.

Dunno if this has been posted already, but Mongrel Punt's preview is worth a read too.

Hmmmm this kinda sounds like we are using him as a part of set plays as a linebreaker out of the back half.

From the HS.
Accurate or not?
I'm tipping we beat Freo and are 4-2.

AFL 2022 ladder predictor: Every club’s first six rounds analysed

FREMANTLE
Rd 1: Adelaide @ Adelaide Oval (W)
Rd 2: St Kilda @ Optus Stadium (W)
Rd 3: West Coast @ Optus Stadium (W)
Rd 4: GWS @ Optus Stadium (W)
Rd 5: Essendon @ Marvel Stadium (L)
Rd 6: Carlton @ Optus Stadium (W)

TALLY: 5-1
It’s a favourable first six weeks for the Dockers, who don’t face any of the top six teams from last year. Four of the first six games are also at Optus Stadium, where Fremantle went 7-4 last season. Justin Longmuir’s side missed finals by just one game and percentage last season and should be one of the teams to jump up this season — if they can stay fit. But after last year’s injury list was at times as long as Santa’s Naughty list, that’s a big ‘if’.

WEST COAST
Rd 1:
Gold Coast @ Perth Stadium (W)
Rd 2: North Melbourne @ Marvel Stadium (W)
Rd 3: Fremantle @ Perth Stadium (L)
Rd 4: Collingwood @ Marvel Stadium (W)
Rd 5: Sydney @ Perth Stadium (L)
Rd 6: Port Adelaide @ Adelaide Oval (L)

TALLY: 3-3
The Eagles should not have too many problems swooping on two wins to start the year, given they face two of the bottom three sides from last season to kick things off. But after that, the going gets a little tougher for a side that is coming off a disaster second half of 2021 which saw them score just two wins from their last nine games. On paper, the Eagles still look good. But the list depth appears to lack and recent injuries to key players Oscar Allen (foot) and Jamie Cripps (shoulder) are not what coach Adam Simpson needs as he tries to turn around the fortunes of the club.

Fixed

Melbourne sides all have to play one game at Docklands, don't they? They'd give it to an interstate team on the assumption of lower crowds, I'm guessing they're expecting a low crowd given our respective seasons last year.

I'm not sure on how they split it up between MCG tenants, but the Pies are hosting GC Suns weeks later at the MCG. I bet we'd draw a bigger crowd than the Suns. Plus we flex for MCG games whenever we can.

Weirdly we have two games each at Marvel and MCG, yet we don't venture to the MCG until R16. Guess it's better than playing the G early and Marvel later in the year.
