This was pretty good tho.

At least we don't have cringe ads like this.

Those couple of runs by Kerr through the middle and then lacing it out to lynch and Hansen were exquisite.

My most vivid memory of being at that game was Kerr in the third quarter charging full pelt through the centre onto a bouncing ball, collecting it clean and the left footing it down low to Lynch who slotted it from [emoji6][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]… .. a highly underrated piece of play

Old news, but still.

Eagles blindside veteran recruiters Trevor Woodhouse, Stephen Nash and Neil Ross in sudden cull

"In the 2006 premiership side the Eagles had five rookie-pick gems, Brett Jones, Chad Fletcher, Quinten Lynch, Dean Cox and Steve Armstrong."

Is the final sentence of that article saying the sackings were harsh because of this 18 years ago or is it just completely out of context?

Hah yeah thought the same. Maybe they had to pad the article out and just tacked that random piece of detail on there.

I'd be more pleased with the direction your club is moving in if I was one of you lot. This is good for moving away from the old ways, old boys and old culture.

I mean they found first round gems like Brander and Chesser in Victoria, I can't see why you would let them go.
I've been more critical than most about our recruiting.

The problem is that it's hard to prove success and failure.

For example I consider our 2020 draft as pretty good even though we now have 0/3 on the list. (Edwards, Winder, Trew).
The players taken at their range were all well performed as juniors, and all ended up playing multiple games of AFL.
But the misses are numerous and with so many picks below 30- unforgiveable.

In which case you have to go back and look at the development pathways at the club and did we provide the right environment. Pretty hard to say we did considering a fair few young players got dressed in a gimp suit on game day under Simpson.

Sounds like either sacked for underperforming or they are in the pursuit of yes men.

Haven't most of those guys been at the club for like 20+ years? Nothing wrong with a little refresh with a fresh set of eyes and a different approach on things. One of these decades we gotta catch up to the rest of the league.
