The scary part is people reading that might think Ainsworth was playing.
To be fair he seemed so far out of his depth no one would think he was actually on an AFL list.

Looks like a bad Elvis impersonator.
Admittedly haven't been following media closely, but from what I've seen there's been very little push back by the media to the AFL for the shambolic player top-up idea.
It clearly doesn't work, a club is currently 0-3 through no fault of their own and is being used as a bye week for opposing teams to cash in 4 points.
I understand the situation is highly unusual, but we're basically like Essendon in 2016 except without the performance enhancement.
Has anyone kicked up a fuss in the media?

He’s simply laying the groundwork to deny us a high pick when we finish bottom four.
“They’re not really as bad as their ladder position suggests, they got screwed over by the AFL in April. Give them pick 12 instead”.
I am really feeling uneasy about the amount of sympathy we've been getting from the Vic media #vicunbias
I'm assuming the mantra will change mid-year and the games will start being postponed.
They feel really bad for us when we are losing (sarcasm).
I think it is more that they only ever mention us when we are losing - and as such want to frame it in a way that isn't seen to be sticking the boots in. To be fair, the media have been relatively reasonable about it - but it remains to be seen if they are as strong on in if/when a contender is having issues with Covid.
