Not gonna read that article out of principle, but if that headline is for real she has to be ****ing kidding.

Worst preseason ever? Big call when it was not so long ago:

1. a certain bombers coach started a doping regime in the offseason. Whatever it takes.
2. Adelaide apparently hosted a preseason camp 🏕 resulting in scarring to players and a multi year downfall to a club who played in the GF the year before.

Not sure how she can bring up the Cousins saga in one breath and then call this the “worst off-season by a million miles” in the next.

In the 2005/06 offseason Cousins was stripped of the captaincy for his imprompu triathlon in the Swan River. In the 2006/07 offseason he was heading off to Malibu for rehab, and Fletcher was recovering from being dead. In the 2007/08 offseason we sacked Cousins and Chick and lost Judd to Carlton.

Failing to come up with a Pride jumper doesn’t even come close to any of them.

We might have had an interrupted preseason but I think it is significantly better than last year. A lot of our senior guys hit the season not 100% fit. It’s really not a surprise we ran out of steam the way we did.

Like that is in any way shape or form relevant to this playing group.


Don't get me wrong, I'm all for putting the blowtorch on Nesbitt as much as any one, but drugs is overplayed Caro.

Highlight our performance on field, how we failed to make top 4 2 consecutive years after our flag, then missed finals entirely to continue with downward trajectory. How we were the worst team in the comp after the bye last year and it looked like Simpson had deadset lost the playing group.

Maybe even some of the bizarre list management decisions we've seen lately, our players showing up and training in rags, or our thoroughly uninspiring apparel deal with Castore. Our lack of improvement in our AFLW team and how we've gone through 3 coaches and our list is made up of woman who are worse than state level players? The lack of meaningful plan or resources allocated to building and developing the woman's side?
