“His pure blood was shed by the hands of the cruelest of the mankind on the earth,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a statement published Friday. “A vigorous vengeance awaits those whose hands are tainted with his blood,” he added.

What's the difference between their terrorist killings and the US terrorist killings? The word terrorist and how it is applied or omitted I guess.

Make no mistake, this is the war the military industrial complex wanted, and it is a war that Trump and the GOP needed this election year. They get to deflect away from the impeachment and their dwindling support and hope the country gets behind the soldiers and the need for stability.

Trump walked away from the Iran nuclear treaty for no good reason and applied sanctions on top of that. Then if Iran even looks like they may have done something to anyone else that doesn't involve the US, the US become the World Police again. Funny how it doesn't work that way when Russia are walking roughshod over everyone.

The US liberated Iraq supposedly, but then they bomb Baghdad Airport to get back at people attacking their embassy because of their strike against an Iraq sanctioned militia.

But Hillary was the warmonger ....
Sorry I’m trying to understand your position on this.
We have reports that the US have been trying to take this guy out for a while. He is a leading threat, and an aggressor. If US intelligence identified this was an opportunity to take him down and save lives of others you are saying they shouldn’t have done this because Trump is being impeached?
Trump is a warmonger because of this?

Since when US bothered about savings lives? please! look at the destruction in Yemen, continuing arse licking of Saudis in the region not to mention Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan etc.

The bombing on the soil of a sovereign country without the permission of that country can be seen as an act of war. The seeming claimed right of the USA to act militarily where it pleases, is worrying. This assassination will neither make Americans safer nor will it deter Iran from continuing with the same policies. One thing it will surely do is lead to more violence..

Is this the new mode of war for the US? Has their surveillance apparatus become so sophisticated they can decapitate their enemies with surgical strikes from the air? A lot of leaders of terrorist group, militia, and now military leaders are being killed without heavy engagement.

Democrat/Republican/Trump/Clinton.

The war industry in the US is the state. Eisenhower saw it, Schlesinger saw it, Congress for all their bluster will continue to enact it.The Dems have the House. They hate Trump. If they don't reign in this branch on this issue (war), they might as well abolish the legislature.

Iran is not the paper tiger Iraq was. The neo-cons weren't as irrationally impulsive as this admin (which amounts to Trump).

This conflict has the potential to be much bigger than 2003. When the military state in the US sees it going this way, will they get rid of the old man?

I’m really hoping in this case it isn’t.

I wouldn't normally care if a Quds Force commander bit the dust, but this is a very bad move on the part of the US, not just for the obvious reasons (antagonising a regional power) but because Soleimani was responsible for overseeing some of the most effective resistance against ISIS, Al-Nusra, and other such charming terrorist outfits.

So whats the end game here?

She was and is. What Trump does has no bearing on this lol.

That was one of the lines used to support Trump. Seems Trump is just as much a warmonger.

I expect that Iran will avoid any retaliation because if they attack US forces it will give the green light for Israel to leap to the defense of their ally in the region, when in reality it is the excuse they use for their air force flattening the entire Iranian nuclear program.

You’re not wrong. But a situation in which Iran has no access to nuclear weapons is only a good thing

I'm not supporting the guy who died. I just find it hypocritical that the US consider him a terrorist for supporting insurgents who attack US interests, while constantly supporting other insurgents who attack those they have a problem with.

US soldiers are targets in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. What's the common theme there? Why are they there controlling the oil, controlling factions, installing people favourable to them?

Can Iran bomb US Generals in who plot against their interests, and do so on US soil?

Fact is anybody who kills a US citizen in the middle east is a terrorist to the US. They just put them on a list and that is their justification.

This wasn't a terrorist leader that the world was against. He was a General of a sovereign nation who the US were not at war with. If he was to be assassinated for any actions that have killed Americans in the middle East, then American officials who do the same are surely fair game.

I used to see the US as wearing white hats and killing evil black hat wearers who I couldn't relate to. Now, I'm seeing a lot of grey hats and am cynical about the US as self appointed world police.

Iraq didn't invite them in to their capital to kill this guy. They just do as they want as though they own the whole planet.

They didn't run it by congress as required. That's why they spoke of an imminent threat and planning of attacks against the US. It's the only way they can bypass congress. Any plans they reveal now are going to smack of their WMD narrative for going into Iraq.

Trump broke the nuclear treaty with Iran for no reason, then sanctioned them and threatened to sanction other countries who did business with them. Why wouldn't Iran want them out of the Middle East?

All good though, the media love a war and the stocks of weapons manufacturers are surging suddenly.

Yer this is all fair. If Trump does a WMD I would be critical of him.
