They get big name recruits nearly every 2nd season, they also took GC salary dump.

Paddy D, Jez, Stewart, Touhey half thier trade targets end up with a farm off the books of course...

We… traded for Stewart? Who did South Barwon take from us in return? I am curious.

Also wondering, as no one seems to be able to answer this question, when Melbourne ceased to have a real estate market.

I reckon Geelongs books could give Carltons 90s team a shake.
The longest deals we currently have are for Stengle and Jack Henry until 2029. 2028 are Holmes and Zac Guthrie, and 2027 are Bruhn and Stewart. How many of those are you suggesting would be in the top echelon of deals in the comp at the minute?

Even Cameron's big deal is due to expire end of next year.

It does not mean there aren't players on decent coin, don't act poor like your teams been bottom 4 for years.

There would be the same cap pressures on Geelong as all teams and some would be taking unders by the rumoured property portfolio "help". Just ask Jez how his Cows are going.

Jordan De Goey on the books until 2027.
McStay and Schulz also until 2027 who I'm sure didn't come over to Collingwood for peanuts.
Darcy Moore 2028, Nick Daicos 2029 and Josh Daicos 2030 would all be some of the biggest earners in the league too.
Not to mention the generous Pies are still paying guys like Grundy and Treloar to play against them aren't they?

But yeah Jeremy Cameron has cows therefore something fishy must be going on, and the poor disadvantaged Pies just can't compete.

Keep up he said who's on big money there, Stewart would be.

Then you need to write clearer mate.

You lumped Stewart in with three traded-in players, and you lumped Tuohy in with three high profile players of the four you mentioned. He is not high profile and never has been. One would have thought either you were trying to say all four were high profile, or all four were traded in.

And Collingwood players end up with ambassador roles, sponsorship deals, inner-city town houses. It’s hardly fair but it’s within the rules, it seems.

Dangerfield wanted to come home for family reasons, would be on a good wicket but nothing crazy.

Cameron’s getting paid well, and deserves it.

Stewart was plucked from South Barwon, once again is probably on good money.

Touhey came from Carlton after we low-balled him to force a trade. They would’ve paid his normal worth for him.

None of the players you mentioned would be on any more than Collingwoods top 5.

The Geelong salary cap thing is a bit of a myth. Once you look through their list you think ‘hang on, none of these blokes are actually any good’ - then they finish top 4.

It's weird isn't it?

I could understand the speculation a bit a few years back when a few were at the peak of their powers, although it still was pretty easy to dismiss.

Nowadays though, our list is comprised of:

- Kids who haven't signed their big contracts yet (outside of Holmes)

- Old guys playing for the minimum.

- And a couple guys in their prime on good money (Stengle, Cameron, Stewart).

It takes 5 minutes to look at the list and you'll be hard pressed to find out where all the money is going.

We're closer to struggling to hit the cap floor than we are maxing anything out.

People want to have it both ways. We routinely get told how shit three quarters of our list is - well how much are they going to be getting paid, then? Like every team our stars will get paid quite a bit but it would fall away pretty significantly behind Cameron, Dangerfield and Stewart. Even Hawkins with his one year deals recently wouldn’t have been on colossal money.

Stengle and Holmes would be the only ‘young’ players on a fairly biggish wage. Dempsey will get a good one in a few years you would think and there’s a cluster of players on mid tier money like Miers and Zac Guthrie etc but geez you would be hard pressed to find many commanding a big pay packet

A Carlton supporter whinging about ambassador roles. You couldn't make this shit up. Judd would of been a Pie without the godfather bullshit offered by Visy

Cameron and Dangerfield would be the two biggest earners. Stewart not sure, he’d be on good money but I don’t think anywhere near those two at their peak. I may be wrong.

Honestly don’t think there’s a lot of players on huge salaries. Surprise surprise players have rural properties and some livestock. Geelong is semi rural. It’s kind of the lifestyle they’re into.

I am surprised every year that Carlton is a destination. Without fail they are always in the running for the big name.

There’s enough money there to power a small country

They are given part ownership in Lygon Streets restaurants and shisha bars.

Quit hating.
