Every single tackle in RL has the tackler's arm around the head and when he's on the deck, the head is pushed into the ground.
Every tackle, it never changes!!

The reason why ??
You do not get punished for your mistakes.
You can drop it, fumble it, punch it and kick it out on the full. If you do these things, so what ?? keeping posession is good, but not that big a deal , because the turnovers are so frequent.
And the marks ?? You see better ones every NRL game, except the Rugby League full back has to catch it, or a try is likely. AFL players take good marks, but if they don't , some idiot has probably punched the ball away anyway.
Too many points in AFL, makes it dull like basketball. A try in league is hard to come by, that is what makes the game great. what is exciting about seeing a ball disappear through 4 oddly placed sticks 40 times in a day ??? Lots I suppose, if you have the patience and mindset of a goldfish.
As an Australian, I'm enbarassed by the game

Now f*ck off this AUSTRALIAN RULES FOOTBALL forum.
Jesus you NRL freaks, if you don't want to get ********ed at Victorians bagging NRL then DON'T go to a f*cking Aussie Rules site, easy.
You idiots.
Yeah, we had to start OUR game cos the powers that be in Union thought it dishonourable for a player that had ruptured his spleen in a game and couldnt work recieved compensation.Scrumhalf said:Union > League. REAL Rugby.
Soccer and rugby league are similar in many ways. The backpassing and offsides etc. But I can say soccer is a better sport. The scrums and continuous tackles in rugby are so boring (like stoppages in AFL)the red baron said:as someone brought up on aussie rules i agree, i love the nrl and most matches i see are fantabulous.......much better than boring soccer.
So true...... and Brisbane/Gold Coast is well on the way to becoming the 2nd biggest sporting centre in Australia.rooster11 said:This whole debate has proven Sydney is the true sporting capital of the world They follow all sports and we've held an olympics in the last 5 years. The Commonwealth games are just a chance for Australia to win a medal tally.

ICC Super test...jipper said:You're a knob.
So Sydney is now the Sporting capital of the world....
Sydney watch one AFL grand final, watch one NRL final, have an olympic games, and suddenly you're the sporting capital of the world.
Forget about the Australian Open Tennis, Formula 1, Spring Racing Carnival... etc.
These happen every year.
But yes, Sydney does do quite well for one-off events. You would be on par with Melbourne.
But year to year, sorry... you've come a long way, but you've got even further to go.

Bleak city is getting even bleaker!

And the reason we dont come out in force as much is there is actually stuff besides sport to don in this fine state.

I live in Wollongong, and i prefer Sydney over Melbourne anyday. I just like being able to sit in a cafe and not breathe in 10 different ciggerettes at once.jipper said:So you rebutt my point with another one-off event? Are you stupid or something? That was exactly my point.
...and there's that chestnut about having more to do. That just makes us laugh down here. You NSW/Sydney people are so conceited, your economy is falling down around your ankles like the cheap hooker your city is. And meanwhile Melbourne is powering ahead in every aspect. Watch your back, because Melbourne hasn't been for about half a decade.
Sydney is stagnant. Read it. Deal with it.
Once you get over being blinded by that beautiful harbour, it's very easy to see what lies beneath and it's far from pretty.

If by 'sports' you mean chutney ferretting, salad tossing and holding parades for blokes dressed as giant parrots, then yes. Sydney is the sporting capital of the world.rooster11 said:This whole debate has proven Sydney is the true sporting capital of the world
