Is Jeff Kennet an uncannily accurate personification of the Hawthorn football club?

I love Kennett because he stands up for the club. Everything he said is true, especially about propping up North Melbourne in Tasmania to force out Hawthorn.

The AFL is corrupt and manipulative and we’ve seen that through a number of controversies over the last decade or so. I don’t want to be stomped on by the AFL and Kennett will die trying to protect our club.

Nar I'd say he's on the money.

Essendon's double up games: Coll, GWS, Syd, North, Freo.

That's actually a pretty heavy draw for a team that finished 11th. 3 in the 8 and a decent North side.

Jeff's claim that the AFL are attempting to pick winners via that logic is an abject failure.

Hawthorn's double ups of Eagles, GWS, Cats, North, Lions is actually remarkably similar to Essendon's.

Essendon have been handed a very strong and possibly undeserved financial fixture. I haven't compared but it's probably stronger than Hawthorn's if Jeff's upset.

But even in a 17 game (or lets be realistic 18 game so each team gets 9 home games and the derbies stay) fixture the AFL will still control who gets the prime time fixtures which whilst not always fair makes perfect sense. It's their job to see that there's good revenue coming in from the TV deal. The AFL could go to an 18 game fixture and still give the Hawks a crap commercial fixture of dud time slots.

Aren't the AFL in the business of predicting winners for greater profit? The only problem is they're no good it. Kennett a former Premier should understand economic forecasting.

Yep I agree, every team that has seen success for at least the past 11 years has been because of AFL corruption.

This coming season Coll Carl ess rich play 9 ‘blockbusters’ instead of the 12 typical even a few seasons ago so the blockbusters have been quietly reduced

An absolute tool is what he is. You'd think Hawthorn were the only team in the AFL, the way he was going on. Not exactly sure why Hawthorn should get preference, just because they 'have been' successful. Right, so no other team has been successful in recent times hey?

'The AFL doesn't respect our great club and what it has done for the AFL for the last 11 years.'

Arrogance embodied.
