If he said that, he'd already be fired.

I think what you mean is that he's acknowledged he could improve, and that's what he's trying to do?
Yeah Lambo and Leppa were at each others throats at one stage because Leppa just wants to talk structures or on more technical side of things without getting personal ... Leppa did start to give in to Lambo who wanted a more personal approach from Leppa to the playing group. Leppa has improved apparently but time will tell as a leopard never changes his spot.

Sounds like you're repeating a story that was released a few months ago and you're just adding your own bit of Hammo to it.

Well it's hard to get a read on what people think of how Leppa interacts with the players because there is no favourable video edited like the ones on Hinkley/Bolton/etc that have gone through the media in the last few years.

Like, without a cool video, how do we know Leppa isn't the same or better with his players?
You're stretching my words just a tad there. Not what I'm saying at all, wasn't a comparison to leppa at all.

Leigh Tudor... ummm, yeah. ya know arrrmmm... I'm sure he's got a lot to like regarding qualifications and experience but not sure he is even up to Leppa levels as far as media work goes. Not a north fan but how often is he used by them in front of the camera?

It's all speculative but I think it's fair to say player effort has a lot to with respect and care for their coach. Our players do not play like this, yet Carlton have won four in a row. We don't know how Leppa is with the players at all but if I had to guess I'd say Bolton probably commands respect and is a better leader of men than Leppa is. Of that I am envious.

Carlton is our new poster child? Ok good.

Clearly we've moved on from 2 years ago and from Port. Spectacular rise to fame. Why can't we be more like Port. Wish we had Hinkley.

Last year I thought the Dogs were our new favourite wanna be... Why can't we be more like the Dogs. We need Bevo.

What about Melbourne... they've won a couple now... anyone want to be like them? Or should I wait until Sunday to ask that question?

It's hard keeping up with the latest fad team and coach that we should be...

As sad as it is they have all been better than us under their new coaches.

God I wouldn't mind the amount of hope supporters of these clubs have at the moment. Some of them may well be false dawns but surely that is better than utter despair.

What I wouldn't give to be the fad team for a while

i think we just want to see our club improve, it has been a lot of years of mediocrity with an all too little glimpse of potential unfortunately.

carlton have just won 4 on the trot, just looked it up the last time we did that was the first 4 rounds of 2010 (the ill fated fevola era).

would love to be playing the brand of footy the dogs are playing.

i think we can all see the direction the demons are going, great young hard at it side.

port, the anomaly.

Oh I agree. I'm bloody green with Envy. I'd love for things to be different.

But I also remember saying (along with others) that Port were overrated and over achieving. And I believe that to be true of the Dogs to a lesser extent but definitely Carlton. Or of course we could be Freo with the worlds best coach (according to some) and a GF challenging list and be bottom of the table. Makes our position a little more realistic.

I'm happy to take my knocks as we go, as long as we are on a sustained and achievable rebuild. I'll take years of finals contention over a flash in the pan any day thanks. Thats been my sole basis of support for Leppa since day one and while I hate these kicks in the guts along the way, I still believe the signs are that that's the case.

Over reaction just sets us back time and time again. We did it 3 years ago. We are nowhere needing to do it again.

Ports not the anomaly. History will show you that.

But Carlton might have won 4 on the trot, but they are playing no youngsters. They were the 3rd oldest side in terms of age and experience on the weekend with an average age 26.20. They are playing an older team than Hawthorn and WestCoast.

Bolton is spin doctoring as whilst they drafted players, none of them are actually playing. Its the experience that is getting them over the line, and just.

They will fall pretty quickly once they get injuries and they start playing first gamers.

The key is to not be like the lions haha

I'd take that at the moment. We are young and hopeless.

did not realize that age profile, thanks for that. i have watched very little of them and did not delve too deeply into their team lineups, just impressed with the 4 wins on the trot and the linked video of bolton in action. will go and have a look at their sides the last few weeks.

i am happy to admit an error in my evaluation of carltons "youth".

Yes. Carlton are playing a very experienced side. They are essentially yet to start their rebuild. All of that joy to come when their older players retire.

Absolutely not and this has nothing to do with W-L stats.

Look at other clubs that are on the up that have changed coaches in the last few years and how the new coach has taken the list forward, we've regressed under Leppa. St Kilda have made progress under Richardson, Beveridge has been amazing and Bolton now has Carlton ahead of us also. The measure of the coach should be asked do we have faith that he can take us to be a top 4 contender and we all know he can't. Once the board decides that then ship him off immediately delaying it hinders the rebuild.

The question is who do we go for?

Ratten? he's been at Hawthorn since getting knifed at Carlton and what Malthouse did showed he was a much better coach than people thought doing well as their midfield coach.

Dew? Very good wraps on him.
Barker? Did well last year at Carlton after Malthouse left, was close to the job just the board wanted someone from outside was the only reason he missed out.

McKenna? GC have gone backwards since Eade took over (although injuries have hurt them).
