Is Nick Daicos The Best First Year Player Of All Time?

Already behing this NSW bloke:

Haydn Bunton Sr made his debut for Fitzroy in 1931 at the age of 19, and immediately made an impact on the then VFL, winning the Brownlow medal in his first two seasons in the competition, before adding a third in 1935.

1. Bunton Sr
2. Coleman
3. Naicos

Sounds about right to me...

I hope when he moves into the midfield he can start adding goals to his repertoire. Nothing better in footy than seeing a gun midfielder who kicks goals.

No doubt he'd also become a phenomenal small forward so that's another option if Collingwood hits an unlikely scoring wall.

Sheezels first 2 games have been better than Daicos' first 2 games in his debut season. I'd love them both at the dees. But Daicos is still a back flanker at the end of the day. He hasn't shown an inside game yet and that's ok. He's a gun in his own position.

Had to stand out for a year because he got a free pair of boots from Fitzroy. No incentives allowed.

If that was a genuine argument that went on for 10 years - Sheezel vs Daicos, who's better? - imagine how much amazing footy we'd see.
The exciting thing for North Melbourne supporters is that Sheezel will undoubtedly be more damaging when he inevitably moves forward of centre...

And you've got Wardlaw to come. Exciting times.

I would have thought that about Sheeze as well but he's really making a difference. He isn't the only reason we've imporved, far from it but he is one of the reasons we have improved. he's made a huge difference to how we move the ball out of defense. We've had poor transitions for a few years now.

Nick's physical strength and ability to win his own footy as well as play on the outside is vastly underrated. Both Daicos boys are hard as nails and excellent tackles for their size too.

Currently holding Sheezels beer for another 20 rounds.. I'd be happy if he gets close

I bumped into Nick a few weeks back. I told him the fans have got him earmarked for multiple Brownlows and induction into the AFL Hall of Fame. He smiled and said "I'm just happy to get a kick, mate"
