Congrats to IQ on a well deserved nomination.

The thing that stands out to me is the way he is able to run off halfback and kick low and hard going forward.

Once he finds his feet he's going to be a real weapon coming out of defense..

Deserved nomination for banking a few solid games, which is how the AFL seem to award the nominations. The young Crows fella was a bit stiff, a middling game from him next week will probably be enough to see him get the nod

There’s a lot of salt on social media about this, always find away to kick the pies and that’s the way we like it

Typical Idiots on Social Media and So Called Experts.

Who is this Scholl bloke anyway?

Time for him to start taking the kick in. With his speed and hoof he should be able to get it to half way and well clear of immediate danger. Got to be better than some of the recent efforts of Moore and Maynard.

That’s actually a really good point. I don’t think he’s taken a kick in. With him kicking in, you can use Moore as a kicking target instead of just trying on Grundy and Cox.

People who are upset that Sholl didn't get the nomination because he kicked 2 goals ought to know that Moore didn't get nominated when he kicked 5 once.

Also, Quaynor is a better player. Gun.

They just don't like a Collingwood Player got a Nomination

Just watched the replay and think some of the comments re Q in the first quarter are a bit harsh. Not even sure he was on the ground when Sexton kicked his first goal. Yes he lined up on him straight after the goal, but not sure he was there before it was kicked.

Sexton had the whole forward line to himself and Rankin was on a fast break toward goal. Q had no hope. It would have been almost a miracle to stop that goal. Everything was stacked against him.

The third one he was too lose and lost him in play which was a mistake.

Good point, he seems like the perfect guy to take the kick ins. Great penetration, accurate, and also has speed to play on when needed.

Seriously about time bloke should have been nominated ages ago.

We have a special one here, fast, strong, elite skills, he is the entire package ohh and he can defend.

Did Maynard have an injection in his ankle which affected his kick outs?

Good recognition of his season; was unlucky to miss when he had a better game a fortnight ago. Seems they chose Quaynor’s body of work across several matches over one standout game, which tends to happen late in the season. Even Riccardi had had a couple of good games prior to his four games.

How could he win if his first season/debut was last year?
As long as a player has not reached the age of 21 by January 1st that year and hasn't played more than 10 games (i.e. 11+) he is eligible. It is even possible for players to be nominated a second time (in separate years). Fantasia, Hurley, Nathan Jones and Witherden are 2020 listed players who have a second nomination.

I would have thought IQ is nothing like H. The only similarities is the dash and carry with the ball. IQ has great hands, is a silky smooth mover through traffic, whereas H was bull at a gate, charge on through.
Now maybe there is something one on one defensively as H was quite good at that in his early years.
The player IQ reminds me of with ball in hand is Johanison. He looks to be significant upgrade with intercept possessions and hardness in the contest and better than Johanison one on one defensively.

Got a long way to reach a Norm Smith medalist, but on attributes he looks a harder, better marking and better intercepting Johanison.

Noble certainly attempted to tackle Sexton when he kicked his first so I assume he was on him. To be fair there was some abysmal defending in the lead up to Sexton’s first 2 goals that cost more than who his direct opponent was
