Honestly, pretty shocked by the Gaz hate in this thread.

I, like the rest of you was not impressed when he left, however given the offer he reportably received, it was almost impossible for him to refuse.

With that being said, the little bald fella helped us to, in all likelihood the most amazing period of football our great club will ever see, 2 premierships, 1 brownlow medal, 3 MVP awards, 4 All-Australians and so much joy i thought i'd never see.

I would have loved to see him be a one club player but he decided different. Its time to move on.

I wish Gazza all the best with his own personal form and achievements, however i hope that piece of sh!t club fail is the most horrid fashion possible.

P.S. Gazza is a better footballer than Judd.

You are shocked that he is receiving 'hate' for talking about how tough it was for him playing in a side that went 83 wins and 17 losses from 07 to 10 and won 2 flags. Someone like Richo would have killed to be part of a side so good.

And he is also talking about how being part of a GC flag would be more satisfying than what he was in Geelong. He will receive less hate when he can shut the #### up regarding us and worry about his new side.

Agree. Snide little potshots like that aren't doing him any favours.

I wish Rooke could've hung around a little longer. Oh, what I'd give to see him run through the centre square in Round 10 a la Mark Yeates

Agree...as alternative now Max has retired, rest Mooney up with "general soreness" and prepare him for 'Gazza Day' bang.

Moons would never play again with his previous record and he pretty much told Ablett to leave through the media so wouldn't have hard feelings towards him :(

West in for "Gazza Day", bring on an x clarke special.

Akermanis summed it up perfectly tonight on the backpage when he said Ablett is now having to do the hard work of getting the footy then trying to also make the play with the new kids around him wheres as with Geelong he had the guys ready to loop over a handball and before the play would unfold had already began running to the left or right etc. Very interesting to hear Aka talk about footy when he's serious and not joking around.
Bartel hits hard even though he doesn't look like he does and Selwood.....well he won't 2nd guess anything if he sees Gazza go to collect the ball:D (Joel would have to be even steven's in the toughness department now when comparing him with Buddha)

Mate, there's nothing new in those remarks. It's been commented on by many. Even on this board.;)

Not that I particularly wish anything bad on Ablett, but the idea of Rooke cannoning into him is kind of nice. Just as a thanks for the turmoil of 2010.

However, we all know it wasn't in Max's character to take out a player off the ball. On the other hand, if Ablett had the ball... [cue daydream] :p

To be fair to Gaz, he'd have a lot more awareness of what was going on around him than Xavier Clarke would, even if Gaz was concussed. :p

I actually don't think we should go out of our way to take Gaz out. I'm sure the thumping we'd inflict on the scoreboard would be more painful to him than any hit we could dish out, especially since he has said he doesn't like losing.

Yep. He is a competitive little bugger so best way to get at him would be to demolish his side by 25 odd goals.

He is in the paper today, telling the Doggies to "bring it on". Obviously doesn't realize that was just about the dumbest thing GWBush ever said.

Lets get over him. But I wish he would get over it too. No more smarmy justifications, Gaz.

Prolly won't happen, but if the Doggies really belt them, I actually would be keen to read what he has to write next week. Then hopefully, the Sun will put that column out if its misery.

you're the one that brought it up Reg !!!
He's a captain, he's going to be in the papers a lot. Get used to it.

VC, maybe you are right and they (interstate AFL team captains) all have weekly columns in the sunherald. I'll keep a look out.

<extreme sarcasm>Thanks for bringing that up. I suppose thats part of the reason for posting here - to comment on things that irk you. I apologize for doing it myself</extreme sarcasm>

Each to their own. I never even read his articles when he played for us.

Now he's told the HS that, quote "If I can be part of building this group from the ground up, and they win a premiership, in some ways that will be more satisfying than the flags at Geelong".

Wow. So helping a founding club of the AFL break a 44 year drought by winning 2 flags in three years is somehow inferior to helping a club to 'buy' a premiership by monopolising the cream of the AFL's youth and trading on greed and betrayal.

Such a noble cause.

Wow, what a bald headed c**t. Gaz would have grown up watchng Geelong, watching his dad, desperate to play for Geelong, and he helped us win a premiership for the first time in 44 years, for the team he loved. And now, he says that like you said, helping a club to buy a premiership will be more satisfying ?? now i really hope he breaks a leg, what a dud.

Yeah, he seems to like rubbing a bit of salt into the wound. Maybe it's his way of thumbing his nose at the GFC and it's supporters.....Whatever it is, it makes it kind of hard not to hold some malevolent thoughts about his on-field well-being

Whatever else it was, I think this statement was an exercise in self-justification, to ease his conscience about taking the 30 pieces of silver.

Used to get irritated that the Hun thought what GAJudas had to say was relevant in this neck of the woods but with the 100+ beltings his side is guaranteed to get every week they play, I can’t wait to read what half-witted inane dull drivel filler he’ll come up next to submit for his pieces.

It’s interesting to note what different people take offence to. Personally I found all the fabricated lame arrogant condescending excuses he spewed out last year to justify his defection insulting the to nth degree.

Lies such as that nobody at the club gave him his due to credit and respect because of who his father was, the so-called pestering he was subjected to by Geelong supporters supposedly affecting his quality of his life or some other made-up shit like that (poor baby never knew he was under such duress playing for a club that won almost every game they played) etc, etc, etc…

He can say he loves receiving daily golden showers from the fake toughman Cambell Brown more than the success he achieved with Geelong for all I care.

Claiming that is some “regards” he’ll derive more pleasure is par for the course and when you think about it, it makes complete sense from his self-absorbed twisted perspective.

It’ll definitely be financially more rewarding, something that is evidently clearly very close to his heart and justify, at least in his puny baldy head, the huge amount of cash the AFL has thrown at him.

Worry more about what the Pies will kick next year against GWS.

I very much doubt GWS will be as dumb as GC in overwhelmingly relying on a bunch of kids from the franchise’s inception, hoping they’ll eventually come good in 3 years time. GWS will wisely realise they need to recruit a lot more mid-tier players to make their team competitive as soon as possible and who will also lead their high pick draftees in good stead for the first 3 years.
