We should put Jeremy Clayton in charge of our football department. I swear they will be picking up opposition manager's teeth for weeks after :D

Anybody who makes this dumbass suggestion should be forced to rewatch the Collingwood game from earlier this year Clockwork Orange style. We tried it, both Sweet and Soldo had by far their worst games of the year, and we lost embarrassingly.
You really are a complete and utter w***er

Kane with the hatchet job on Soldo.

If the Saints wanted Soldo for a 4th, it's official we overpaid for him.
Given Kane's inside connection, they're incredibly damning words.

A few mentions of never settling in after having a high maintenance GF move away, are totally understandable, but to have those sorts of words from Kane says to me the opinion of Ivan is horrible within the clubs 4 walls.

It evens out because neither Sweet or Dante would be on big money.

One thing I'm not concerned in the slightest is Port's ability to manage the cap. They're arguably the best in the league at that.

Yeah absolutely, my comment was more around where Soldo would fit for other teams salary wise than for us.

Saw him reach his peak where it was never going to get much better.

I know it happens but I found it hard to believe that a guy our supporters didnt give a toss about losing would be anything at a team that gets to the right end of the ladder each year.

I thought the exact same thing when I was listening to Kane.

Kane was acting as the mouthpiece of the club and was allowed to tee off and not mince words.

Also factoring in is that they overpaid on him and they already have a bad return.

Who knows where he would've gone without injury, but his career has been littered with them and Sweet saw an opportunity and took it with both hands.

Saints only wanted to give up a future 4th at the most.

I won't.be surprised though if another team pops up late for him, just like Port popped up late for him 12 months ago.
Why would they have wasted his time if they were only going to give up a future 4th? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

They probably thought they could get him cheaply given Port have offloaded unwanted players on the cheap with regularity and now that he's no longer the lead ruck.

Port are fine if he stays, though I still think a team will bob up late for him and he will go for a 3rd round pick.

The Saints wanted a discount in Soldo's asking price by saying his knee was an issue even though he passed the medicals hence they were offering 4th rounder.

Port were asking for a 2nd rounder and the Saints didn't want to give into that since they believed they could get him cheaply.
To save face they pinned it on his "knee history" and therefore its the reason why they pulled out of the trade.
