Subiaco Oval is a disgrace. I refuse to pay $550 a year to watch 11 games in a 3rd world facility. I will only return to football in WA when we have a new stadium one that I will be proud to call a home ground

Best seats in the house at subi = 2nd tier of ticket pricing at the Dome or G how much do you charged ???

i know what you mean. . and this year i'll be missing 4 games cause i'll be overseas. :(
. . the way i see it, once they do build a new stadium there will be such a big waiting list you won't be able to get a decent seat unless you stay a member now. and that's still probably 10 years away.

but i agree, subi = awful.

it smells of piss, it's hard to get food/drink.

and if you're on the north side of the ground in a lot of the places you don't even get your own seat, (you're on wooden bench seats with lines drawn on them) so if you are put next to a fatty they encroach on your personal space all year, or you're put next to people that like to try & spread out & take more room than they're allotted EVERY SINGLE WEEK (i can't believe i have to ask them to move every time i get to the ground)..

the only thing going for it is location, lots of different drinking/eating establishments for pre & post game make it an ideal place for the ground to be.

I will worry about that when the time comes. Pity really WCE & FFC should sue the WAFC for restraint of trade. This small stadium is costing them dollars

well since WCE have reached membership limits and all their home games are sold out, i'd say they're not too worried at this stage.

add to that they're always out of food by 3/4 time.

freo. . well they're about at their membership limit so you'll find with a few home wins on the board in the early part of the season next year all their home games will sell out too.

they should just sue them for it being crap.

"your honour, i'd like to deliver the opening statement in this case, i'll be representing the WCE & FFC . . . .

our case very simple your honour, subi oval sucks ass and it smells like piss.

we rest our case"

get judge john deed onto them, he'd sort them out.

It's OK, our poor stadium deal gets us a huge handout from the AFL every year.
Doesn't it?

Great post :thumbsu:

I mean thank God we get those handouts for our crap stadium deal. Imagine if we were stuck with something like Telstra, I mean sure, we could fill it every week (with just our own members) and make even more money than we do but we would lose those handouts.....

.... how much are they again?

;)

Hasnt James Packer come out and said he will pour millions into burswood if they knock down the Dome and replace it with a footy stadium?

.... and give his Casino a shit load more slot machines (the type currently banned in WA).....

James is all heart!

(By the way, I reckon they should do it - what do I care about problem gambling and the ruining of lives, of course the Govt might have to consider alternate views :))

Problem is they won't build what needs to be built for future demands. The 1990s redevelopment was a waste of time at the time, but never took into account any growth. If they redevelop again, we'll be complaining again in 10 years time.

We need 60,000 now. Not in 5 years. I'd rather a half empty stadium when our teams are crap so that there is room for a massive crowd when people do jump on the bandwagon.

Ebay.

Overprice it and make a nice little profit.:thumbsu:;)

it's funny, i've seen people buy a derby ticket for $400. . which is pretty much a whole season's worth of games (premium). .

would be worth selling just that game, you'd get the rest for free.

Is it $550 for a home games membership + reserved seating? If so, is it the best bracket of reserved seating?

I pay about $330 at the dome for my membership and A level reserved seating first level on the wing.

I reckon that is worth it considering how good the dome is to watch footy. :thumbsu:

If I were purple or addicted to ice, I'd be writing to my local member of state parliament and telling the WA State Government to pull their friggin finger out and build a new stadium. WA can't be spending too much money on anything else (no Grand Prix, no good museums or gallerys, no heritage restorations, no gardens to mainting etc.) and they must be rich from all the mining contracts that are coming in.

Get your premier to realise that you're sports mad, and rebuild Subiaco into a 70,000 capacity stadium with decent facilities. If Melbourne can build an indoor 50,000+ state of the art stadium, while already operating and rebuilding a 90,000 megastadium, i'm sure your government could get it done

Yeah, that's an adult premium gold seat. Although the quality seats within every category can vary enormously - my premium gold seat is 2nd tier on the wing, but you can pay the same for a seat at the back of the first tier in the pocket.
The cheapest is budget, about $240 a year I think. But there aren't that many of them, and they are (obviously) the worst seats in the ground. IMO, anything less than premium seats are shite.

You Victorians don't realise how good you've got it. :p

The government could get it done, but that would involve someone making a decision.
