Agreed, its been said a number of times by more than one ex player how good John Cahill was at giving them the belief they were better than their opponent.

The difference between his `mental preparation' for the team and the individuals that were in it on any given day were chalk and cheese compared to kern's continued use of get out clauses, which sometimes included a bit of un-necessary and over the top buttering up of the oppo as well.

That was what the early Hinkley era boost was based on, all the players believed they were fitter and could run out games.

The problem was Hinkley started winking when he said it, so they stopped believing.

I would have thought because he is highly regarded in his current role, and it also allows him to live in Vic.

(For those who missed it, on the news report about training under lights it was reported that Sweet had a collision with Chris Davies which caused him to limp off the field - but he came on later and finished training).

This is where Kochie needs to step up in the media and not bashing the SANFL. AFL only respond to optics and at the moment we are scapegoats because there is no media consequence to over penalizing our stars and personalities.

Been on the cards for a little while. He's sick of Koch's media rants which make his job harder.
