In your opinion this club is not in good shape. In my opinion it is in good hands. You are right about distain for some of comments from the last 3 pages. Your either 3 are all incorrect but somebody who does not abide the use of this forum for personalised vendettas forreasons i cannot fathom, all in the name of being a saviour for a club which 60,000 support might just not be in your right wing corner.
And replace him with who is the question ?
I think there's a fair bit of truth in thisThe big change from 2014 to 2015, was not game plan or personnel, IMO. It was the change from ‘exciting team playing good football, with no expectations’ to a premiership favourite.
This team (even more so in 2015) has/had players who were on the list in 2007 or its immediate aftermath years where it hung like a dark shadow over everything.
Those players can talk about wanting to play in a grand final, but they are terrified of being there and failing again. Every time we look like being in a position to be a flag threat our leaders go into their shells. The comfortable blanket of mediocrity, with no expectations is so comfortable.
Boak, Hoff, Hartlett, any of those drafted / traded in whilst Choco was still coach should not be near a leadership position. Look great blokes (especially Boak), but these guys were broken and are still broken. They probably don't even know this consciously, I'm sure they all go out with the intent to succeed every game, but sub-consciously they don't, when it's all on the line. Until these guys as a minimum are away from 'leading' this team we aren't going anywhere. The only one of them from the era (2007-2010) who does regularly stand up in crunch games is Robbie Gray. Honestly I'd be stoked if we off loaded Pittard, Broadbent, Hartlett AND Boak this trade period.
I'd keep Robbie and Hoff, Robbie has some steel (forged in come backs from injury possibly) and we can 'carry' Hoff (as long as not a leader), but not the rest. Until we remove the broken players we'll never have the mental strength to stand up when it counts.
This is not to excuse Hinkley at all, his game plan, selections and match day coaching are all abysmal. And he should be able to see these players are broken. Either he can't (which is poor talent and leadership identification) or he does and keeps them in senior roles (which is worse). I'd go so far as to say our broken players have infected the coaches mindset. It's all about protecting what we've got, not taking the risk and striving for extra. That puts you at risk of failure and ridicule, better to be 'near enough, but not good enough', then risk your job, by taking all on.
Because the coaches box is the real life Muppet ShowCan someone explain to me why Robbie Gray (near on the best Clearence player in the game) is lose behind the ball, Wingard up forward for the last centre square bounce ?
I called it after their second last goal.
"We need to get Wingard and Gray in the centre square" We win that clearence we win the game, would have thought your best clearance players should be where the ball is to be one.

Christ, remember last time Koch thought he had a clause to rely on? Went well. There may be a Performance clause after all.
According to Caro there is possible off field tension at PAFC and Hinkley is under pressure from Koch.
Makes you think about the "i'm accountable for Winning and Losing" remark after the showdown

You want a few hard truths? Try these:Total rubbish and just a label in this caseto denergratebecause a few hard truths were put forward and the only resort was to label. I read opinions that i find very average and have responded as such. So that makes me a troll. Pathetic.
I am a port adelaide supporter and member, get that and have been asupporter, member, attendee, for many decades.

My suspicion is we'll go out with a whimper this year followed by a chorus of "Charlie n' Paddy will be fine after a good summer, we'll work harder" etc. & Kochy's "pressure" will be little more than a slap with a fairy duster.. Bring on the long winded stammering explanation/excuse laden dribble by Keefy on various media outlets thrown in for good measure.

Why should members pay for the Port boards **** up? If anything Koch and crew should pay Ken out of their own salaryWell I've done the calculations. Now if $60,000 members contribute to the approx $3mill payout it is $50 each. If only 40,000 of us have the stomach for it, it goes up to $75 each. Tack it on to all of our memberships. Hell i reckon that is cheap.
You better not be teasing me here. If us missing finals means we get the option to void Hinkleys contract then I want all the players on the ground making snow-angels for the last 2 games. There may be a Performance clause after all.
