As much as i would love both,
watching Rachele in the midfield in the last quarter against Collingwood show some
Class, having Rankine would allow one or the other to go on ball while the other stays as a forward threat giving our midfield that class we currently don’t have in there.

Like Rankine, Lukosius hails from Adelaide, but is said to not have the pull from home like many of his contemporaries.

The Suns’ list management team are currently in negotiations with the management of both players.

Barring a sudden change in direction, it is expected both players will re-sign around the same time.

Gold Coast chief executive Mark Evans last month told SEN that the Suns’ emerging stars were seeing the bigger picture.

“From the things that they’ve said, both privately and publicly, it says to me that they enjoy being here, they like the teammates, they love the club, their families understand the opportunity that they’ve got here if they remain together and the success that they can have. So far we’ve seen a pretty strong level of commitment towards that,” Evans said.

They definitely should stay at the Suns if money is their priority.

They can milk the Suns for years and earn the dollars without the scrutiny of performing in Queensland.

Luko could easily command $700k, Rankine $600k for multi year contracts at Gold Coast.

I dont think the Crows or Power would pay overs for them.

There's no way we would offer that type of money, so you're right they'll end up staying.

Dont get me wrong I would be happy to have them here at the AFC as they would help to feel a need, but not on those dollars.

Now if the Suns offer them only unders for their contract, it would make sense then for them to seek a return home at a similar or lower contract..

Port are into Luko more than we are.
Wouldn't mind Rankine but I reckon he would prefer to stay at GC.

At this stage .. we got the small fwd position covered... and I don't think we'll ever see ranking reach even half his expectations at gc ... he's getting wasted there.... his career won't last much longer... and it would be a mistake by gc to not trade him for anything decent cause his value is nowhere near his draft position now.

Doesn't mean anything.
The quality of the 2 teams in terms of younger players is pretty even
It’s not guaranteed but it’s a start any way my original point had nothing to do with Adelaide.
I wasn’t suggesting he’d be better of coming to us.

I'd have Rankine back in a heartbeat on his round 1 form.
Lukosius doesn't really fit a need for us anymore. He'd be nice to have on a moderate contract without having to give up to much, but he would.

Harry Lemmey seems like a better basket to put the eggs into if we think we still need another key forward to partner Thilthorpe.
How Fogarty and Himmelburg development over the season might determine that.
