Word on our board has always been that Rankine was never in doubt but Luko is still pretty 50/50.

As much as he said the right thing re his contract he still mentioned several times that Adelaide (the town) is home.

I would bank on him staying on the GC for his whole career that's for sure.

Yeah I think he will come home when he's a free agent going by his comments.
He probably feels like he has unfinished business as a Sun, would earn more up there over next 3 years and wants to come home as a player rather than potential.

He's one of those guys who would be more than happy to waste his career cruising around the GC, but to get the best out of him he needs a club like Sydney.

Not picked for senior team for the final 4 games of a 22 game season.

Joel Jeffrey kicked 10 in the VFL so had had to be picked.

We’re not delisting Izak at least anytime soon.

a very nice couple of preseason games.
Chol kicked 4 goals in 6 quarters aswell.
Hoping he can also replicate that performance in season

Kicked 15 goals in the previous 4 VFL games including 9 in the game before he replaced rankine. I’d say that’s a must play situation.

Can only assume you are solely focussed on SA footy.

I wonder whether this thread should be changed to bring back Jack Lukosius....Rankine seems like a waste of time and resources now we have secured Rachele..would rather try and pick up Daniel or Dunkley from the Bulldogs personally...or the pick of the bunch, Pickett...

If only we had overlooked Daniel’s garden gnome status and picked him ahead of the shortish Harrison Wigg (or McGovern) in the 2014 Draft.

I remember Daniel being described as the most talented player in that draft, which may have been proven correct, although not the best player (Petracca/Moore). To be fair, Wigg was also well regarded and we nailed our first Pick in Jake Lever. Unfortunately our only remaining selection from the 2014 Draft is ROB (and Billy via a trade from Port)

Re Rankin/Luko. It would be unusual for a wanted young player to leave a club after only 2 years (Gunston/Lever excepted), particularly if being adequately paid. Rankin/Luko would be more likely to bail out of GCS after 4-6 years when they proven themselves as AFL players, it has become obvious the club is going nowhere and they’re wasting their short playing careers in an empty stadium.
